Another favorite author is Robert McCammon. His books cross many genres:
Swan Song is an epic post apocalyptic novel.

Stinger is scifi horror.

Gone South is about a Vietnam Vet on the run from authorities- he's being chased by two bounty hunters: one who has a strange deformity, and the other an Elvis impersonator.

The Wolf's Hour is set during WW II about an Allied spy who also happens to be a werewolf.

Boy's Life is my favorite book of his, it's set in early 1960's Alabama. Coming of age, mystery, thriller, fantasy, ghost story.

Did Koontz write Intensity? I read that years ago and really liked it. And I remember reading him a couple times in the late 80's early 90's and enjoying the books. But I don't remember which ones I read.

Hahaha.

Might just be selective memory for me, as I have no problem remembering every movie I've ever seen.

maybe to help with the spelling part.. carry a pocket dictionary along with you.. helps TONS.. that and crossword puzzles.. there's some very easy ones out there you can start with.. I do one every night before bed.. it helps in 2 different ways.. 1stly, helps me work the memory AND 2ndly, gets my mind OFF the day and into a more relaxed mode.. which typically makes it pretty easy ta fall into a restful, deep sleep!yawn asleep

i read on the net one time to achieve a good rest the body needs to be physicaly and mentally tired

not necessarily.. being over-tired doesn't help..

but what I do know.. is that when we awaken.. we're at our most energetic (even before eating) so typically I do all the heavy lifting (so to speak) and exercise early.. I find the later I wait to exercise or do labor.. the harder it is to fall asleep..

as for having a tired mind.. the mind NEVER sleeps.. sometimes things get soo riled up that it's hard to STOP thinking about it.. so by doing crossword puzzles.. it immediately changes the mind to a more relaxed mode and one can easily fall asleep afterwards (providing ya don't let the crap return first.. it's a discipline really ) however.. reading books I find doesn't work because if it's a REALLY good story.. ya kinda don't want to put it down ohwell which leaves ya yawn most of the next day..

summer is a whole other thang.. heat drains a lot of our energy.. although the sun is very nourishing to the body! if you REALLY can't sleep and have a partner.. sex is always good to de-stress and help ya pass out quickly TOO bigsmile

laugh

laugh it funny the things that jog our minds or what we remember huh.. mind you.. you don't have to go back as far as I do to remember being 10.. at least not fer awhile anyways  lol

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Quebec City.. we're further south in Montreal(and a LOT more fun LOL).. it's about 45 mins from the US border(although I'm a wee bit closer than that ) one summer you should take a drive up with your family.. I'd be happy to show y'all around.. providing of course I can take the same 'time off' as you bigsmile that WOULD be fun though.. I have an 8 man tent you can use out in ma backyard and a fire pit..
however, you'd all need passports ohwell
