I have found so many so called "educated people" just seem to have been deprived of their ability to think for themselves. And why should they? They are told what to believe and they are told what think. Here we go. |

You have no idea what my education is. No, but clearly it is not in the field of ancient history and classical literature. You are assuming again. Not really. It is obvious from the evidence presented. That is only your limited opinion. It is not obvious. You know nothing about me. It only annoys you when I disagree with you. How dare I disagree with you! |

Oh, now we're back to the puerile games, I see. It is obvious that you have a limited understanding of ancient history, because if you did have a background in the subject, this whole tiresome discussion would never have taken place. Now, let's watch this go round in circles yet again. |

They are told what to believe and they are told what think. Here we go. It is true. Some people I have known coming out of College seem to have had their thinking brains sucked out of them. They get indoctrinated to authority to the point that no creativity is left. This is not always the case of course. But I discovered that a four year degree in Art does not teach you to be an artist. Being an artist comes from the inner being. It is the same with music. You can train a person to play music perfectly but if it does not come from the soul, it may as well be coming from a computer. Music and Art takes more than skill. It requires passion and feeling. Education is so superficial for most people. Only people with passion and feeling will use it rather than just let it program them into non feeling, non thinking robots with a degree. |

Now, let's watch this go round in circles yet again. History is written by the people who win the wars usually. Then it is revised and debated. I see no reason to waste my time with that, and I have never claimed to have an education in ancient history. But the Internet, as much as you disrespect it, is a window to the world and the largest library on the planet. Education does not stop at college or Highschool. It is a lifetime. You are not better than someone else because you boast of an education. You are just boasting. |

I'm sure there are those who fit your description. Art college does not make an artist, I know that better than most, but it is hardly universal. This is not always the case of course.
Of course. But I discovered that a four year degree in Art does not teach you to be an artist. Being an artist comes from the inner being.
It is the same with music. You can train a person to play music perfectly but if it does not come from the soul, it may as well be coming from a computer. A creative talent cannot be taught, merely encouraged and enhanced. Education is so superficial for most people. Only people with passion and feeling will use it rather than just let it program them into non feeling, non thinking robots with a degree. Most people? I've not found that, but then, the most creative thinkers I know are educated. Those that are victims of prejudice, propaganda and manipulation tend to be those with a limited education in my experience. |

But the Internet, as much as you disrespect it, is a window to the world and the largest library on the planet. And it is a window to the largest collection of ignorance and populism as well. I personally would rather go to the Uni library than pay for access to academic papers online, but that's just my preference. Education does not stop at college or Highschool. It is a lifetime.
That is a given. I've never stopped learning and I never will. I'm considering going back to Uni to do more journalism/media studies. You are not better than someone else because you boast of an education. You are just boasting.
I never said I was better than someone else. Why do you do this? I know my subject and I know it well, boasting has nothing to do with it. It is a simple fact. When I'm ignorant in a given subject (and believe me, there are plenty), I don't run my mouth, I sit back and watch, listen and learn. |

When I'm ignorant in a given subject, I don't run my mouth, I sit back and watch, listen and learn. When you talk down to another person (as you do to me,) and brag or mention how much education you have, together those too things in combination sound like boasting to me. And you use name calling a lot for some reason. You appear to have a lot of repressed anger. You may be educated but you don't know how to treat people with respect. To be honest, I feel hatred coming from you. I do apologize for disrespecting you. When you hold your anger in check, you do make a lot of sense. |

That's true, but so what? It is a reflection of the entire world, what would you expect? No less, but it is not the only source for information and I prefer the Uni library as it has free access to academic papers. The internet often requires subscriptions. When you talk down to another person (as you do to me,) and brag or mention how much education you have, together those too things in combination sound like boasting to me. And you use name calling a lot for some reason. You appear to have a lot of repressed anger.
I treat people like they treat me and I don't have a lot of repressed anger, on the contrary, I find the world rather amusing. You may be educated but you don't know how to treat people with respect. To be honest, I feel hatred coming from you.
I don't respect those who disrespect me. I wouldn't say I hated you, but I really don't like you. I do apologize for disrespecting you. When you hold your anger in check, you do make a lot of sense.
Like I said, I treat people like they treat me, and I too, apologise for any disrespect I have shown you. |

Like I said, I treat people like they treat me,
I think we have found a clue to the reason for so much hate and war in the world. If two people can't find peace with each other, then how can we ever expect countries to? |
