Does anyone else feel Religion and Politics should NOT be mixed in any way shape or form? ..... They really shouldn't. Separation of Church and State is a fundamental foundation of this society. There is good reason for it. Could not agree with you more Pucker. Pucker? |

There is good reason for it. Could not agree with you more Pucker. Agreed. People who are overly religious always seem sort of eerie to me and do not belong in public office, in my opinion. This was my main issue with Ron Paul. As much as I love the Blues Brothers, I do not want a president who's on a mission from god. That's one of the great things about this country compared to others that are ruled by a fictional book. You're free to worship whoever or whatever you want here but keep the politics separate. |

Many people out there do not acknowledge Jehovah God at mealtimes are at any other times. People need prayer and that is what we who believe can do, pray for others who don't believe. President is no exception, Pray for him too.

President is no exception, Pray for him too. It has nothing to do with what he believes. He could be the most devout Catholic ever and I wouldn't want him to mention God as the POTUS. I don't care what religion my government officials are. If they leave religion out of politics it doesn't matter what their personal beliefs are. |

Points are; Many people do not acknowledge God. People just like to find fault with whatever and whomever they disagree with. Many on these forums have Opinions and I have one too. |

This makes absolutely no sense in regards to the topic. We are talking about the President and his Thanksgiving speech. Some seem disappointed that he didn't mention God. I'm not trying to be mean or discount your opinion. Just staying on topic. |

It appears to me that this thread is nothing more than an excuse to bad-mouth the current President of the USA.

It appears to me that this thread is nothing more than an excuse to bad-mouth the current President of the USA. Sorry that you misunderstand. This is merely an article posted as a topic. No one has "Bad mouthed" the President here. There are many other good excuses to do that. |

For this to truly be, all government employees/workers should no longer receive the benefit of a Christmas Holiday, due to its religious basis (God bless our soldiers who already work that day). And no more taking a weekday off just because its Easter weekend, either. |

Oh goodie, I get to be the first one to point out how UNreligious Christmas has been for the past few decades.
