Topic: Complain, complain, complain!!!! | |

The voters passed the recreational marijuana law in Washington state, but apparently now the tax on it is raising the price on it to the price that now the smokers are complaining - apparently the cost of an ounce will now be $42O -- hmm, was that a coincidence???
Anyways, they have to work out all the bugs, etc., but apparently raised the price from $200 to $420 -- let the complaining begin. I don't care, I don't smoke. Should be interesting to watch. |

Wow....that is some pricy ganga, hope it's good!!
I guess they'll be paying for peace of mind knowing they won't go to jail for it. With all the peeps in jail for weed..no wonder potheads get paranoid. Now they can relax and enjoy the buzz, if then can afford it. |

Yeah well they tax everything else why not pot. I've said it myself make it legal in every state and tax it. This would give more money for the government to spend. Since It's unable to get out of the spending trend.

If it's sold legally and someone gets busted selling it on the black-market, what you suppose the conviction would be?

Was it voted to be legal so that the government could provide it ("legal outlets")? Isn't the idea just to let it be marketed like tobacco or coffee? I could grow those right now if I wanted to, for personal use, to create a business selling it, no difference.
Are the state governments going to actually establish a price floor for it? I'm not sure why that would be needed. I'm sure they'll load it up with taxes, but that's different. I'm all for that, anyway. Let people pay for their vices. |

I will dare to assume.
If you grow to sell, you will need licensing and inspections. If you grow any amount and get caught without the tax stamp, that's both a state and federal crime. Beings prison systems need cheaper labor, those busted boot-legging could get the same time as the moonshine cooker. 200 to 400 an ounce would be really easy for a boot-legger to beat. The first few busted will have to be made a harsh example of and remanded to the max penalty and fines. Another thing. If it gets classed as a medication, that's hard time for selling prescription narcotics. |

It's just currently a "sellers" market. Short on supply, high on demand. Capitalism will take over eventually and the supply side will end up causing the price to decline.
In the mean time, grow your own, sure it takes six months, but it's cheaper. |

. . . high on demand. . .
Is that a double entendre? |

It should not be "legalized" and controlled by government at all. It's a plant for god's sake. It should be like any other plant. Grow your own, smoke your own without having to go to jail. But the government wants to tax it. |

. . . high on demand. . .
Is that a double entendre? Yes it is. Not as good as a nonsequitur, but it will have to do. |

Is that a double entendre? Yes it is. Not as good as a nonsequitur, but it will have to do. and there's always the dreaded ad hominem when one least expects it. |
