I haven't seen much news about the klan. They are dems and tried to instill religous values into the party, no?

Great posts. Thanks...I only have a few minutes to post now but I'll come back and add more later...I think the politicians and the "powers that be" are thrilled beyond description when the public slips into apathy and despair and hopelessness and negativity etc..They love it when we're two "sides" split right down the middle throwing "stones" at each other too!..They can keep doing whatever they want as long as we stay "divided." (And hopeless and doubtful etc.)..I'm a big believer in the "Hundreth Monkey Syndrome" and we're not there yet...Sometimes we have to go through hard and painful experiences (and lessons) in order to "wake-up" and look at the world differently. I've sure had my share of hardships and "wake-up calls" over the past few years. ..Some people won't step-out of their "comfort zone" unless the ground caves-in beneath their feet...Once we have more "awake people" in our country the politicians won't be able to get away with "baloney" and rhetoric and worn-out "lines" anymore. IM MSHARMONY AND I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE......... Thanks!...Some people want to "do battle!" And play "tit for tat!" Or: "I'm smart and you're stupid!" It's sad! Don't you think?...I'll write more tomorrow. Thanks again. Will add a little more...It's frustrating when people become stuck in the "battle-mode." As in: "I'm right and you're wrong! Ha ha!"...We can't unite and work together to find solutions for "common causes."...We can't push the politicians to "grow-up" and "do more" if a large majority of the "voting public" isn't willing and ready to "grow-up" a little more too!...It's not always fun to "grow-up" and be more responsible. (I can attest to this! I've had to "take-on everything" since my husband and son and entire family passed away!)...But I still try to have some fun so I won't "crack-up!" (And can stay in balance.)...When it comes to the problems and issues we face as a nation I tend to be more "serious-minded." It's about "real life" to me. (My life and the lives of all of the people and families in our country.)....I tend to view it as "bigger" than just me and my "small life." How do you feel about it? Thanks.

I think there is corruption in both parties and the entire system...Everyone has some "tricks" up their "sleeves."...I don't take anything at strict "face-value." I don't put either party or any politician up on a pedestal. I know there is "stuff" going on behind the scenes..But I don't want to become totally negative or "burnt-out" either. If I give-up and lose hope that things can be different someday the politicians "win." And there will never be an end to all the "scams" and corruption...I may not see any changes in my lifetime. (I'm getting old now!) But hopefully future generations will be able to start over and rebuild if we go through a "crash and burn" at some point down the road.

Don't worry citizens. Look at the facts. The Republican Party and Democrat Party are both one in the same. They work together to destroy this nation. Look at them shaking hands after the debate. Was one question actually answered in this debate? Poverty, low wage jobs, college debt, gas prices, will never be asked during the debates. This election does not effect Obama or Romney ironically. The American people are all sheeple and will gladly vote for either of these evil men.

There is corruption in all governments..A "few" at the "top" pretty much control the masses...It can even be this way at the local-level if residents of a town (or area) don't pay attention and become apathetic...Or if they are afraid to "speak-out" and challenge people they consider "authority figures."...Those at the "top" are happy when we spend our time "attacking" each other and pointing fingers at each other. (Versus holding them accountable and pointing our fingers and blame at them!)

The parties are easier to discuss by their given name 'reuplican, democrat' etc,,,but they are truly composed of many individuals all with some common interests and some differences,,, I do see the majority of what I hear from the republicans as being concerned with money to a fault of being disconnected and unconcerned with middle and lower class americans I see the majority of what I hear from democrats as being more concerned with fair and equality for all citizens to a fault of being disonnected with the balance between revenue and debts I think neither is perfect, for the reasons stated above, but I am always hopeful that each of them will use their strengths to complement each other as a way to have a balanced GOVERNMENT I think much can get done with that happens, but as of late, they only pound each others weaknesses into the ground and try to discredit the other half,,,,which only stalls the potential for progress they could be making,,

the republican party isnt racist, but racists are probably more likely to be attracted to the republican platform What makes you say that? just my opinion,,,, I have no verifiable data, numbers, or anything else when I look at some of the republican causes and the language of their campaigns,, I just believe it could be very appealing to a racist,,, 'cutting social programs' ..many racists assume social programs are especially for minorities so that would appeal to them 'leaving it to the states' ...many racists live in regions with racists cultures,, so that would appeal to them too 'voter id laws'.....many racists believe minorities have special groups polling for them (acorn,,etc,,,) and that these minorities are breaking laws just to put votes in for their candidate,,,,, so this would appeal to them 'immigration bills'....many racists fear their status will be taken by immigrants who are able to get in without passing through the immigration departments (financial, criminal,etc,,) checks and that these immigrants are getting undeserved assistance so this would appeal to them ...just to name a few

They want a level playing field for everyone. Yet, equal opportunity and a level playing field don't guarantee equal results. The only way to guarantee equal results (to the best of my knowledge) is to redefine what is fair so that it is no longer fair.

How do you feel about the way politics is discussed today?.. I don't think we're going to be able to find solutions to our problems if all we do is "sling mud" and point fingers at each other. (And "trash" the other "side.")

It is the bigger problem of 'A NATION"problem is our nation is still asleep.My generation of"NIMBYS"feels the older generation sold us out a LONG time ago.WE cannot ride in our cars the way we like,cannot smoke outside in the fresh air, heck...they'll b controlling our homes very soon. Does anyone think if India had the chance like us,,,they would remain asleep?huh...
