During all my time here , I have NOT ONCE reported another mingler for anything

nor do I plan to ever (unless I feel PERSONALLY threatened in some way, which IM doubting would happen here)

I tend to leave these conversations on the computer and not take them so much to heart


however, it sometimes feels like people are baiting others , perhaps in HOPES That they will be reported,,,,

Although. You got me thinking: I've read postings that "under my belief system" are disrespectful...I leave that posting...don't even get into name calling or anything else that might ne going on between two people.
Some people "get hooked on" to whatever their emotions might be.
Then, it does leave like a bad taste on me to understand some people treat each other that way.
But then again, respect is relative when there's freedom of speech!

When someone is disrespectful I bring that to their awareness. Really, sometimes people are clueless or they seem to be. Its not about me, their disredisrespect i say to myself when that happens. Its about them.

Being a site admin, myself, I report abuse, simply because I appreciate my members doing so. It's not just about user safety, but keeping the site clean and enjoyable as well. If you use a site regularly I believe it's your duty to click on ads you are interested in and contribute to the content, help keep it clean and safe, upgrade or donate, etc. Even if your not staff (or "staff"), but just a member. JMO

I know I have been reported. Sometimes by folks who just don't like my style. ANd, after a couple suspensions, I learned not to call names.

I have also reported trolls, scammers and fake profiles.

Th PC BS, IMO, is just that.

Eventually, we will not only lose our freedom of expression, forums like this will be forced to monitor and suspend anyone who posts anything that goes against prescribed guidelines.

One pet peeve I have is, and this is unverifiable and I have no direct proof of it, it just feels like, there are cases of selective enforcement of the rules.

If there are rules and anyone breaks them, bias or favoritism should have no part in rule enforcement.

The only reason why there are rules and guidelines on forums like this is because of the ads. They pay the bills, they make the rules. I don't rely on ad revenue on my sites, but I do try to maintain a certain image, so I have rules and guidelines in place for that. I pay the bills by selling products and services and recruiting.

I understand that.
Not one thing wrong with any site making money however they can.
And I hope you and Mingle2 makes bundles of it.

The rules were here long before the ads. The rules are the basic rules that almost every site has. It helps keep the peace and keeps the debates civil. I prefer to have a debate without the childish nanny nanny boo boo's like some places have.

The rules are basically common sense.

Of course you will catch hell but only because you like it so much

Don't forget (despite popular belief) that the mods are human. Sometimes a post might be clear cut to the one reporting something but not clear cut to the mods or others. We can only use our best judgement or ask other mods for a 2nd opinion.
