When I read something like this in a news article talking about "a pro-al Quaeda group" I see a red [false] flag go up.

Al qaeda? Really? Al Qaeda was an invention of the CIA, and is a buzz word for an excuse to bring in the drones and assassinate suspects.

Sources tracking militant Islamist groups in eastern Libya say a pro-al Qaeda group responsible for a previous armed assault on the Benghazi consulate is the chief suspect. A senior defense official told CNN the drones would be part of "a stepped-up, more focused search" for a particular insurgent cell that may have been behind the killings.

In June, a senior Libyan official told CNN that U.S. controllers were already flying the unmanned craft over suspected jihadist training camps in eastern Libya because of concerns about rising activity by al Qaeda and like-minded groups in the region.

Uh, no. The U.S. government isn't saying that.

From CNN:

U.S. sources said Wednesday the four-hour assault in Benghazi had been planned, with the attackers using the protest as a diversion.

That is not what is happening.

There were mostly peaceful protests about the video.

Then, some radical terrorist group who probably has nothing to do with the protesters used it for an excuse to cause violence and instability.

It's a familiar M.O. of the Cabal.

No matter what happens, war or no war, Obama will be reelected.

I know this from watching the republican convention. They have no concrete plans about what they are going to do, because they know they are not going to be elected. Its all a bunch of nothing speeches.

Libya Attack Sparks Crisis

Updated September 13, 2012, 12:43 a.m. ET

The killing of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, in one of the most brazen attacks on a U.S. diplomatic compound in a generation, sparked a security crisis in the North African country, elevated tensions across the Middle East and raised concerns about how well the U.S. can protect its diplomats abroad.

The U.S. responded to the assault by dispatching two Navy destroyers, dozens of Marines, federal investigators and intelligence assets to Libya to protect Americans and help hunt the suspected religious extremists who carried out the attack late Tuesday. U.S. officials described the attack that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens as complex and possibly premeditated.

The assault in the Libyan city of Benghazi, along with a protest at the American embassy in Cairo, fueled a harsh exchange between President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney.

Mr. Obama said the U.S. will work with Libya to bring the attackers to justice. He and other officials didn't rule out a U.S. strike. "Make no mistake, justice will be done,'' the president said.

The assault took place on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, a day when security officials are typically on heightened alert. American officials, who debriefed survivors, described a horrifying scene in the consulate where, amid thick smoke and gunfire, Mr. Stevens became separated from his security officer.

When the armed men arrived in the consulate neighborhood, "we couldn't stop them," said Saleheddine al-Arghoubi, a nearby resident. "They were multiplying, minute by minute. There were hundreds of them."

As attacks increased and flames in the consulate grew, personnel were forced to abandon the consulate building without the ambassador. American officials retrieved his body when it was brought to the airport the next day by Libyans.

An Obama administration official declined to detail the ambassador's security measures but said a review conducted ahead of the 9/11 anniversary found "no information and there were no threat streams to indicate that we were insufficiently postured."

U.S. officials were still piecing together the day's events, which followed protests at the U.S. embassy in Cairo over an anti-Islamic video. In contrast to the Cairo protest, which appeared to be spontaneous, U.S. officials said the attack in Benghazi late Tuesday might have been planned by militants who used the protests as cover.

American intelligence agencies were poring over information that could help indicate what groups may have taken part. Officials said the agencies are looking specifically at the pro-al Qaeda group Ansar al Sharia but cautioned they didn't have solid evidence.

Nearly 24 hours after the start of the shooting, officials struggled to explain what transpired through hours of chaos and terror inside the darkened consulate and a nearby annex. They warned that their preliminary version of events could change as more information became available.

The gang first arrived in the neighborhood around 8 p.m. local time carrying weapons including rocket-propelled grenade launchers and automatic rifles, said Ali Ben Saud, owner of the villa leased to the U.S. for the consulate.

A Libyan doctor said he and several neighbors tried to get the gang, which he estimated at 200, to leave as they marched toward the U.S. compound. "We told them to leave our homes alone and one [of the militants] replied, 'The Americans are infidels and we are going to finish them,' " the doctor said. "Many of us then fled because the shooting started."

Said Mr. al-Arghoubi, the neighborhood resident: "They didn't come to talk. They came to fight." The first shots were fired at around 10 p.m. local time, or 4 p.m. Eastern time, according to a preliminary U.S. account.

The attackers quickly gained access to the compound and began firing into the main building, setting it afire. A senior administration official said three people were inside the compound at the time: Mr. Stevens; Sean Smith, a foreign service information-management officer; and a U.S. regional security officer.

As the three tried to leave the burning building, they became separated from each other in heavy smoke. The regional security officer, whose name hadn't been disclosed by late Wednesday, made it outside, and then he and other security personnel rushed back into the burning building to try to rescue Mr. Stevens and Mr. Smith. They found Mr. Smith, already dead.

They were unable to find the ambassador before being forced to flee the building because of the heavy flames and continuing small-arms fire.

Mr. Obama was told Tuesday night that Mr. Stevens was unaccounted for.

At around midnight, the mission annex came under fire. Two U.S. diplomats were killed during that attack and two others were wounded.

According to Mr. Ben Saud, the landowner, Libyan security guards jumped into the compound and pulled Mr. Stevens from the burning and smoke-filled building at around 1 a.m. local time. Libyans then drove him to Benghazi Central Hospital, where the staff tried unsuccessfully to revive him.

At about 2:30 a.m. local time, Libyan security forces regained control of the situation, according to the preliminary U.S. account.

Obama administration officials said they didn't know what condition the ambassador was in when he left the compound. "His body was later returned to U.S. personnel at the Benghazi airport," an administration official said. A chartered aircraft evacuated U.S. personnel back to Tripoli, including the remains of those killed.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the attack should "shock the conscience" of people of all faiths, but wouldn't alter U.S. policy in Libya. The "mission in Libya is noble and necessary…and will continue," she said from Washington. The U.S. also announced increased security measures for all U.S. diplomatic facilities.

Libyan officials, many of whom led the rebel government based in Benghazi and worked with Mr. Stevens during that time, condemned the killings. The head of the new congress, Mohammed Magarief, apologized to the American public for the tragedy.

By late Wednesday, no one had been arrested. Officials in Tripoli were scrambling to implement a response to what they admitted was a monumental security breach.

The U.S. sent the destroyers U.S.S. Laboon and U.S.S. McFaul to the Libyan coast to aid in any evacuations or humanitarian missions, said a U.S. official.

A U.S. Marine team was sent to supplement security at the U.S. embassy in Tripoli, arriving there Wednesday. The unit is known as a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team, or FAST team. These typically number 50 Marines.

Mr. Stevens is the first ambassador killed by hostile forces since 1979, when the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan was murdered in Kabul.

Members of Ansar al Sharia gave an interview to the local television station from the hospital early Wednesday morning, praising the men who attacked the consulate and calling them "the top layer of Libyan society." However, the members told Benghazi TV that their organization, a group of religious fighters who fought to help oust Moammar Gadhafi from power, didn't plan the attack against the Americans.

Mr. Stevens, who was 52 years old, was usually based in Tripoli. He apparently was visiting Benghazi ahead of the planned opening of a U.S. cultural center there, said a Libyan official.

The attack on the U.S. consulate was the second this year. In June, suspected Islamic militants detonated an improvised explosive device at the same compound. A Libyan guard was injured, but no Americans were harmed. In the spring, the International Committee for the Red Cross offices in Benghazi were also targeted.

Washington has long been leery of the radical Islamic fringe in Libya. The largest numbers of foreign fighters in Iraq waging battles against U.S. soldiers were from two towns in eastern Libya, and U.S. drones have monitored those locations since the Libyan uprising last year.

i haven't read anything anyone has said because it's not worth the time in my opinion however Based off of the subject of the topic, I have an opinion I'd like to share. "Apologizer in Chief" Obama, who has proven many times over to be a liberal constitution breaker, proved once again he wants to see this great nation of ours to fall. how many times does Obama have to commit treason before he is impeached?! He's not even legally allowed to be president as he wasn't born in the U.S.

I don't care what anyone says, this event proved the lack of experience, leadership, military experience and the lack of decision making ability that Obama really has. The first batch of help arrive on scene mid day Wednesday almost 24 hours after the chaos. We have assets in place where we could have responded and got people on the ground there within two hhours, hell maybe within the hour. This is exactly what SEALS, Rangers, Force Recon and other Special Operations unit's train 24/7. How hard would it have been to even consider air dropping them in.

Embassy security in Muslim country's should have been on high alert and extra resources should have been used on the anniversary of 9/11, especially after the death of Osama.

Obama, Change we didn't need!

Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., suggested today that President Obama's response to the embassy attacks in Egypt and Libya was akin to a court asking a rape victim for an apology.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, the 70-year old, retiring senator said:

"It's like the judge telling the woman who got raped, 'You asked for it because of the way you dressed.' OK? That's the same thing. 'Well, America, you should be the ones to apologize, you should have known this would happen, you should have done - what I don't know - but it's your fault that it happened.' You know, for a member of our State Department to put out a statement like that, it had to be cleared by somebody. They don't just do that in the spur of the moment."

Kyl likely referred to criticism by U.S. diplomats in Egypt of a U.S.-produced film that reportedly features a negative depiction of Islam's prophet, Muhammed. The film was cited later during the attack on the U.S. embassy in Egypt.

"It came from people on the ground, who are potentially in danger," Obama told "60 Minutes." "You know, my tendency is to cut folks a little bit of slack when they're in that circumstance, rather than try to question their judgment from the comfort of a campaign office."

Mitt Romney was the first to attack the president, releasing a statement Tuesday night that claimed the White House's initial reaction was "disgraceful" and said the administration was inclined to "sympathize with those who waged the attacks."

Romney kept up his attack this morning at a news conference in Jacksonville, Fla.

"I think it's a terrible course for America to stand an apology for our values," he said. "An apology for America's values is never the right course."

Kyl, however, would apologize for - or seek to clarify - his remarks this evening, a spokesman contending "the comments were meant to demonstrate that innocent victims of violence need never apologize to those committing the heinous acts of violence."

Sen. John McCain, the other Republican senator from Arizona, had a notably different take than Romney, telling ABC News' Jonathan Karl he thought President Obama's response to the Libya attack was "fine."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The provocative anti-Muslim film implicated in mob protests in Egypt and Libya received logistical help from a man once convicted of financial crimes and featured actors who complained that their inflammatory dialogue was dubbed in after filming.

The self-proclaimed director of "Innocence of Muslims" initially claimed a Jewish and Israeli background and said he had gone into hiding because of the international controversy set off by the movie. But by day's end Wednesday, others involved in the film said his statements about his background were contrived, and evidence mounted that the film's key player was a southern Californian Coptic Christian with a checkered past.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, told The Associated Press in an interview outside Los Angeles that he managed logistics for the company that produced "Innocence of Muslims," which mocked Muslims and the prophet Muhammad and may have inflamed mobs that attacked U.S. missions in Egypt and Libya.

Nakoula denied he had directed the film, though he said he knew the self-described filmmaker, Sam Bacile. But the cellphone number that the AP contacted Tuesday to reach the filmmaker who identified himself as Bacile traced to the same address near Los Angeles where Nakoula was located.

So much for blaming the Jews!laugh

"As more information comes to light regarding the violence in Egypt and Libya, including the deaths of four Americans, it becomes apparent that Barack Obama was caught completely off guard. Not only does it appear that the violence in Libya was coordinated and planned, but Barack Obama hadn't even attended a security briefing in a week.

As reported by Tony Lee at Breitbart.com, the Internet movie which is being blamed by the Obama administration as the cause for the attacks in Libya and Egypt most likely was just a cover for a coordinated attack that had been planned for some time.

But a closer examination of the evidence indicates al-Qaeda orchestrated these attacks, and the movie was just a bogus excuse used to trigger the widespread violence. Even worse, it seems al-Qaeda telegraphed these attacks, and the Obama administration still got caught flat-footed, unaware of the terror group's strength in the region, missing key signals and clues that were out in the open.

One day before September 11, al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahri posted a 42-minute video on Jihadist forums urging Libyans to attack Americans to avenge the death of Abu Yahya al-Libi, the terror organization's second-in-command, whom U.S. drones killed in June of 2012 in Pakistan.

In the video, al-Zawahri said al-Libi's "blood is calling, urging and inciting you to fight and kill the Crusaders," leading up to a date heralded and celebrated by radical Islamists.

Another version of the video was actually posted on YouTube on September 9 and yet, President Barack Obama, who has not attended an intelligence briefing since September 5, and his administration did not beef up security at the embassy and consulate on September 11. There were no Marines present to protect Americans abroad, as the Islamic mobs overwhelmed what little security presence there was.

It's just shocking that in the days leading up to the 9/11 anniversary that Obama would be skipping national security briefings. Shouldn't all embassies be under extra alertness and protection at a time when the events of radical Islamic attacks are being remembered and those lost are being mourned?
