Why do they want your email address and phone number? What do they do with it once they have it? And yes I know to report them....

I suspect both are meant to lure you off-site.
Where there are no safe-guards.

The sooner they can get you off a site to yahoo they then have plenty of time to convince you they are legit and then proceed to scam you..

I know many say that will never happen to you! Well I got news for most that is what the ones that got scammed thought at first too...

Sites such as yahoo will not ban them from having e-mail accounts or using Im....With sites that actually do check them out and members can report them to be looked at they want to get here and get off quick..

All I can say if anyone goes offline with anyone. Keep all your history every e-mail and recorded IM as well...

Which is why i personally prefer dealing with anyone using a Gmail account than a Yahoo email!
Before a gmail account is registered and activated, you need to provide a phone number for verification! While this won't stop you from being scammed, at least, the phone number is traceable! Except if the country doesn't have a phone number registration policy :-) And in Gmail, NO email is ever deleted! You can always retrieve the emails you're thrashed at any time!
But most importantly, keep your communications on this site! And if you feel something is fishy, report to the Admins! Why would anyone share their email address on just the second msg?

To lure you off site and scam you also they sell your data to other scammers and spammers. They will also use your data to send out scams and spams using your identity and contact info. And for any other purposes they wish.

Thanks peeps. I had an idea it was more than to just get you off site. I just could not figure out what.
