Topic: Does age difference matter?

Some dating sites suggest searching for a partner with not more than five years age difference either side of your own age, because the chances of a successful relationship
with someone when the age difference is beyond this range is quite small. I can think of a number of celebrity marriages where the age difference gaps are much wider than
this, and I know, some of them have failed, but not all.

Should we follow this advice regarding age, does age difference really matter in forming a successful relationship?

Yes & yes - hahaha a short answer and to the point, of which I certainly have to agree with. However & but, it does really depend on the people involved.

Of course age matters! I have so many older men contacting me and it makes me sick. There is no attraction and nothing in common to talk about. I'd just like to meet someone my age but the majority of them are still chasing 25 year olds.

If it makes you sick, you should change your settings....

Depends, it matters to some, but not all. Anything can work if both parties are willing to make it work though, so it's really up to each person whether age is an issue or not.

i think where you've been, where you are, and where you want
to go, in life and love, matters more than age.

Thanks everyone for your post replys.

Well, they say they had it all - Bogey and Bacall - with an age difference of 25 years and a happy marriage until Bogart's untimely death, but I tend to agree to some extent with the suggestion on the age range difference for a successful relationship. However, when I find an interesting lady on a dating website with no age group specified and close to home, yes I give it a shot, I don't consider age as a barrier against or a criterion for forming a successful relationship.

Age different doesn't mean anything in relationship, what matter most is love and understanding with maturity and God's help.

Does anyone remember a movie with Richard Burton, and Tatum O'Neil,

and she was like 15,

and he MUCH older.surprised

She rode her bike past his house everyday,

and finally they met,

and fell in love?

I cant remember the name,

but it was a true testimony of love.

True. But at least they got to experience true love. Some people never get there before they die.

Actually I was talking about Harold wrecking that awesome Jaguar Hearse. That poor car.

By the way, Harold & Maude is in my Top 10.
