Topic: Are black women least undisirable ? WTF! Is this true!? | |
---|---|
Regarding the photo gallery above, MsHarmony I am afraid the women there have Caucasian noses and mostly straight hair. The one with the curlies does not have African curls. To the hot blooded Spaniard: try to date some Black women from Africa. They are oppressed there for their sex, so they are plyable and malleable. African African women from Africa have certain magic that they bring with them from the old country. A type of grace, a certain way of carrying themselves, which makes them beautiful. A calmness, a self-contented quiet way about them. They are not egotistic, they are not self-promoting, yet they exude integrity and bewonderousness. Please don't misunderstand me, American African, African American, White American and Oriental Americans can have grace and regal beauty, and they do too, but the Arican African women from Africa have more of that, everything else being equal. By-and-large, African Africans are not so large, either, by their largesse. I am surprised you think there is a 'caucasian' nose there are no traits that are EXCLUSIVELY belonging to one race,, IMan is actually FROM AFRICA, as is Mrs World Gabrielle Union is an African AMerican who certainly doesnt have a 'straight' nose and hair products make it kind of hard to know what ANY females 'natural' hair texture or color is... there are many shades in each race and many types of noses... |

I don't care much about why they try to style themselves to look like white women.
Why are they ashamed of their natural, kinky hair? I have yet to see my Columbian friend wear hers naturally. She doesn't wear a wig. She just keeps it glued down. |

Now, this woman has a beautiful exterior, making her physically beautiful.
What's on the inside, her attitude, who knows. ![]() Why cover it up? |

Some black women are beautiful and some are ugly. The same can be said about any race.
In general, looks help but real beauty comes from the personality. |

Not if you were American Black or African and had to comb it everday - We can't just wash and go and the comb doesn't just slide through our hair. I dated a caucasion for 5 years and he learned the hard way. There was a little girl who ofteb played near our home and he thought it would be funny if he through water on her, which he did. That didn't go to well with her or her mother. I wasn't home at the time, but found out later about it and began to educate him on the do's and don'ts of Black Hair.

She doesn't wear a wig. She just keeps it glued down. this again is a fallacy that it has to be about looking 'like white women' do white folks who tan do so to look like 'black people' or do they just prefer the way the tan looks? not all black folks have 'nappy' hair, perhaps there are other BLACK women that black women emulate and try to 'look like' or perhaps its just easier to manage and style when it is straighter hardly any woman wears their hair 'natural' (just wash and go), most put some product in it to make it manageble or style it ,,its not really a big deal at all or exclusive to black women in any way or to women who are 'ashamed' of their hair |

It's more of darker tone women who are at least desirable , especially in music videos, it's always has to be some mixed girl, I guess their seen as unattractive

Im curious if any black woman who isnt 'dark' has to be therefore 'mixed'?
we come in all shades,, and although there are fewer DARK skinned celebrities, video girls come in all shades too |

All women are beautiful(or can be). I've read and heard all kinds of stuff on this topic. Everything from white women are nicer and easy to hang out with to black women have attitudes and are too high maintenance. Aside from the crap in the media, I would say it's just personal preference. But it really shouldn't matter what color/nationality a woman (or man) is. this, personally ive dated a few black women buts its never worked out since im a hot-blooded spanish man i preffer women who are more passive So you think being passive has something to do with race? lol, I wasnt going to touch that ,, ![]() ![]() Im very used to the stereotype,,,but in fairness, it sometimes just is a result of limited experience,,its how we sometimes categorize experiences,,,, Me either ![]() Although I do take it as a compliment that black women (in his mind), aren't considered as passive ![]() ![]() |

I find it a nonsense that too many women look at society to validate or define “beauty”. In my mind, it’s very much in the eye of the beholder yadda, yadda yadda.
The 'glass ceiling' isn't just a metaphor for gender inequality in the workplace, it's also used for race as well. Bare in mind that women (and men) of colour in the fashion, film and beauty industries do not always start on a level playing field. Which is why film makers such as Spike Lee, John Singleton, Iman (in terms of makeup), Oprah and many others have tried to redress the balance with varying degrees of success. Steps off soapbox ![]() |

It's more of darker tone women who are at least desirable , especially in music videos, it's always has to be some mixed girl, I guess their seen as unattractive If that is true, then what does it say about the men who make the music videos? Whether or not a woman is desirable has nothing to do with the color of her skin. |

I consider the claim in the OP to be a bit ironic. Here is why:
The high school that I graduated from originated as my hometown's only all-black high school. At the time of my graduation, the majority of the students were black. While I was a student there, the girls I thought were the prettiest were either black or members of other minority groups (Asian, Hispanic, Native American). One thing prevented me from dating any of those pretty girls - the fact that I was white. Yes, racism goes both ways. |
