Everyone has gifts, abilities and talents. I don't see someone as dumb because they may have less schooling. There are a lot of people out there that have wisdom yet some would still call them dumb. I would take a wise woman over a (smart only) woman any day. Smart is not necessarily partnered to wisdom or talented.

And if I had talent

I wouldn't have hit that button twice.

I don't think I saw in the thread where anyone mentioned people were dumb because they had less schooling.

I know quite a few men, though, who find the ditzy/dumb girl a turn on, though. I'm just curious as to why that is. Maybe they just like the act?

To you, what is the difference between wise and smart?

I'm curious to know if educated ladies do the "dumb down" if the object of their desire pulls up short in the smarts department?

I know women who do. I wouldnt. Most of my family are 'smart' people and because I am close to them and speak with them often,

I want someone that can become a part of that comfortably.

Not even a little bit. My brain is my most attractive feature and any guy who doesn't get that, wouldn't get me.

I sure hope not. I would lose respect for her. I respect and admire intelligence, to hide it would be manipulative.

I have witnessed smart women saying dumb things to make their significant other look brilliant. I'm not entirely sure whether they do that simply because they love them, are amused by them or want them to look clever than they actually are in front of their peers, friends or family.

If I have to say dumb things in order to make someone look smarter, they're not the guy for me.

And very rightly so for you Singme...but i'm still curious to know why both genders do that.

People will always try to put round pegs in square holes.

Meaning what exactly Totage? That is a very loaded statement and can be interpreted any which way by the reader.

What is your thought behind that statement?

You said you knew ladies who did this. Did you ask them? What did they say?

I meant people will always try to fit in where they may not necessarily belong. If you feel the need to hide your intelligence, you may not be in the right place or with the right person.

hmmmm... yes and no. some "objects of desire" would not even
require conversation. :) but, if we're going to spend
significant time together, i prefer an equal playing field.

I dummy down a lot and have for years. Makes holding a conversation a hell of a lot easier.
