So today is the 35th anniversary.

Who would've thought it was so old?

I remember my dad getting Time Magazine and they had a huge spread in it for Star Wars, went to the midnight premier that night.

I was there with my very pregnant wife on opening day. Hard to believe that much time has passed.

I was 7. It's first time I remember seeing such a big line for a movie. Though it wasn't my first movie on the big screen, it's my most fondest memory of seeing a movie as a kid.

My ex and I skipped work to go see
the 'novelty' film.
It scared me silly :-)

It was.
So different.
Sci-fi, fantasy, outer space, a zoo picture..

It definitely was different, Lucas may have borrowed heavily from Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, and Japanese cinema, but he made it his own.

My bro-in-law almost went to work at
Lucas Ranch north of the Bay Area.
He was an unparalleled artist and graphic designer.
I could have killed him when he took
a higher paying job.
