Well hopefully there will be cabins in the area they are talking about getting ... If we're going to Blanco it's campsites. But I guess someone needs to DECIDE first. It's still in the talking stage...there is a Baptist camp down near Bandera...that's close to Fredricksburg...so there a lot of stuff to do..we used to have family reunions there...but I don't know how much they are..they have cabins and cook houses.. just an idea to chew on. |

Can you find out the info on that? We used to have fun retreats in the mountains of NM at a church camp. It was a terrific option! |

If I really had my choice it would be this one:
39. Palo Duro Canyon State ParkCanyon Deep, rugged and spectacular Palo Duro Canyon runs through the heart of this very large area in the Texas Panhandle. It is also the site of the state's final battle with Native Americans. Hiking and biking are favorite activities. 16,402 acres. Directions: The park is located about 12 miles east of Canyon on State Highway 217. From Amarillo, take I-27 south to State Highway 217, and go east 8 miles. Cost: Camping fees vary; entrance fee. More info: Write Palo Duro Canyon State Park, RR 2 Box 285, Canyon, Texas 79015 or call (806) 488-2227 I used to go here when I was a kid would love to see it again. Not to far from Viv's |

Not to far from Viv's I love Palo Duro! They used to put on the performance of "OKLAHOMA" there in the canyon with a Barbque before it started..wonder if they still do...it was awesome! I just looked at the website...they put on 'TEXAS' now ..but it's only from June through August. |

Humm ya telling me I might have to hike into it? If so this whimp is out lmao

I did go look they have some really kewl rustic cabins but they only have so many 4 people they say will fit in each not sure how close they are to each other.....
Other then that none of the campsites have bathrooms you have to drive down the road to get to it... http://www.palodurocanyon.com/info.php Ohh and no kitchens all cooking has to be done on the grill...which is not a issue... Looks like a really neat place have never been there.... |
