My simplest pleasure, is being out camping in themiddle fo autumn, when the nights are chilly, yet the days are still warm enough to enojy being out doors all day.
Getting up in the morning to see the sun just starting to rise above the horizon (I used to see this every day when I did 3rd shift security at the zoo), and siting back in a combination hammock/chair with a cup of fresh boiled (remember your camping lol) cup of coffee. Stirring the embers of the camp fire frot he night before, in order to bring it up enough to cook breakfast. Going out immediately fter breakfast with a fishing pole in hand to simply sit back and relax to the point that nature forgets you are even there, and thus you really see nature in it's true form. Getting back in time to have lunch, then taking a hike through the woods and watching as mother nature starts putting everything down for its winter bedtime slumber. Seeing the leaves as they turn various colors, and come loose from the leaves. Once the hike is over, just going back to camp and sitting down in yur hamock/chair with another cup of coffee and letting nature take control again. Then as the air starts cooling off for the night, building the campfire up to a roaring blaze. Finally, going to bed at the end of a relaxing peaceful day of camping, to the chilled air, knowing that when you get up in the morning it will all be there for you to do again, and not worrying about whats gonna happen if you forget to do soemthing by a specific time frame. I am hoping to be able to do exactly this come autumn this year. The only thing that would make it even better than what I described above is having a beautiful lady to share it with me and my boys. |

Satisfaction in a task done well, with all the generosity I possess...whether noticed by others, is irrelevant...the pleasure in the task...

Simple pleasures:
Seeing my little dogs grin.(they do you know) Seeing the look on my moms face when she has had a good day. Waking up and seeing my hair actually not sticking up all over the place. Seeing the new green coming out on my newly transplanted trees, I planted for my mom. Going out to the streets to admire the beauty of my freshly mowed and pampered yard, with all the beautiful flowers and trees. Watching the birds eat from the feeder after I fill it up with seeds, and take their baths in the waterer I provide for them. Watching the boys across the street make ramps for their bikes. My kids and grandbabies faces. A freshly cleaned and made bed. A job well done. Hearing from a friend that means so much. Kat |
