Speaking of native American jewelry, I'd like to collect silver and turquoise pieces when I am able to. What's stopping you? I'm sure you could find items that fit your budget. Just be sure to avoid plated silver, where they take something such as copper ( if you're lucky) and plate it with .001 (one millionth) of an inch of silver. |

I'm having 7 surgeries this year, no money for anything else. |

Speaking of native American jewelry, I'd like to collect silver and turquoise pieces when I am able to. I have one necklace that is made like a squash blossom (necklace) but instead of the blossoms it has real bear claws. The claws (3 on each side) are capped with silver and have turquoise and coral on them.. The Naja (front middle) is made up of 2 claws with silver caps and turquoise and coral.. All strung on silver beads.. I have matching earrings. Saw one like it in San Antonio a couple of yrs ago and the lady said they tried to sell it on Ebay but had to take it off as it is against the law in USA to see anything with real claws unless its owned by Native americans...I've had mine for more than 15 yrs and it was very expensive... |

I can imagine the cost! Turquoise and silver are expensive without the claws but oh so pretty baubles! |

Maps (from age 8 to age 23) and antique maps (from age 13 to age 52). Then I stopped coz there was no room for me in my house.
I bought and sold antique maps on eBay for a good number of years. Then I branched out into the white slave trade, coz the profit margin was exceedingly higher. You could make as much profit as twenty thousand bucks on one sale, provided that the product was young and healthy. (SORRY!!! A BAD JOKE. I APOLOGIZE. MEN WILL NOT SAY A WORD, AND WOMEN WILL HATE ME FOR THIS COMMENT, BUT I COULD NOT KEEP IT IN.) The map thing was real, though, no joke there. At age 11 I had to decide between collecting maps vs collecting flags, and I chose the maps. To that point I had already been collecting postage stamps, empty cigarette boxes (it was a hobby for kids in my school -- in the drab communist times the occasional cigarette box from the west lit up our sad little drab lives for a while. These boxes were colourful, fancy, stylis and elegant; not like today's, what with the skull and cross bones and showing people dying of colon cancer from second-hand smoke), toy soldiers, fallen coins, spankings from my father, a love for literature, several girlfriends (although they were oblivious to this -- most notably the girls drawn by an artist on the back of playing cards, whom I dated for a good year before I'd discard them), bows, toy guns, Indian headdresses, gun shells and live bullets found in the dust left over from WWII, a lot of memories, some slaps on the face, the deep blue of the summer, the incredible scent of love and renewal in the spring, and the beautiful, heart-wrenching smell of burning leaves in the fall. |

Old coins and old dollar bills. I still have most of my G.I. Joes and Star Wars action figures from the 70s and early 80s. |
