I try to not be fearful of change and think positively about most everything. Seems to be working.

Not always, what about the child that is aborted, or still born due to abuse or neglect? They never had a chance.

What about the children that are abused and neglected and suffer physical, emotional, etc. trauma and scars? They don't choose to be in those situations. They don't choose to have unloving parents. I suppose when they get to a certain age, they're suppose to be able to fix themselves?

No, it's not always like that.

I agree Totage sometimes life is not whaty you make it always but how you deal with it is.

As a kid I was one of those kids that had many a day I wondered if I would survive to the next. The ugly details don't need to paraded out to make the point.

And yea some of that followed me into my early adult years.

But there is and inner-strength that if you choose to reach in and gut it out you can survive almost anything.

Just like you can then look around the world and see how other people thrive and be happy.

Yea Sometines it is real hard streach t to get at it but if you don't give up it is amazing how ordinary people will give you not just a hand out but a hand up. And yea some have ulterior self serving motives or even make you dance their crazy sureal dances.And yea Someties you have to make a little noise and tell people your needs in a way that shows a little self respect and humility but for every arsehole out there there are several more that make themself a mentor and a friend if you drop the attutude and only return the friendship and maybe just pass on or pay it forward when you can. I mean the proverbial you not you personally of course

But kids even kids who seem to have the deck stacked against them make it and are phenominal in so many ways you would never know how they suffered.

I make no secret that finding your God and praying for help and guidance is helpful but there have been plenty of times I was too beat down to even know God was near and I woke up in his arms when I needed it most. That God didn't care what I was or wasn't he was just there with what I needed. Sorry if this sounds preachy but it really has been my experience and I don't think some of the other trodden down are any different.

Yea I know that some don't seem to get much more life than to breath in a breath pr twirl in the womb as a tiny momentary flicker of life but seems like it is even a choice then wheather to expand that essence or not by living what life it has been created to be. .

Sometimes a bad situation is a bad situation, no matter how you try to look at it. Life is not always sunshine and butterflies, no matter how you want to try and spin it. There's not always a rainbow after the storm. It's not always about our perspective on life, and whether we choose to see the good or the bad. Sometimes it just is what it is.

Yup sometimes life sucks in a big way and you are right as rain sometimes there are buzzaeds not butterflies to work with but hey it is still a choice to live or lay down and die.

this conversation makes me think of the proverb about the sparrow who was starveing to death and he all he could find was chaff. Then it started to rain and he was freezing to death too. Not a lot of options he dropped to the cold ground to week to move. Then a cow walked over him and took a big old dump on jim. Boor helpless little sparrow looked doomed. But he pecked through the manuer for a few seeds and it keep him warm enough for the sun to come up and the warmer rain cleared his feathers. Some times you don't get your answers in the way or time that seems fair but if you just chose to fight to keep living you may just get the stuff you need to survive.

Every time I get out the jar of loose change my cat runs and hides and I always wondered why? Then I realised it's because he's a male cat so he's afraid of change!

Dogs have a million times better sense of smell, eagles, a million times better sense of visuals, and otters, a million times better sense of hearing. Men have a good sense of tactility, that's why the intelligent designer created women. He goofed -- the breasts should be in the back, and the azz face forward, but hey, He was not in love. In fact He must have been feeling his way in the dark - so to speak, and also maybe not only so to speak -- because, you see, the literature mentions no "Mrs. God" (not until Mary, mother of Jesus, in the least, appears some four thousand years too late).

What about organized genocide. Or forced labour camps. Or mass murders in the Ukraine. Or the decimation of Americas indigenous peoples in the times following Columbus. Or the meteorites and tsunamis that kill people every year. You have a choice in deciding to stand on a spot where a meteorite is coming in at near light-speed velocity?

Or... or... revolutions. The vacationing West German couple who got raped and then their flesh eaten off their bodies by Tamil Tigers. Or prospectors who fall in very deep crevices. People who lick metal fences in the middle of winter. People who go out and watch the war downtown. Or people who play "chicken" on the highway.

People who get chased by cops and shot on site only because they look someone who is a criminal. Or people who accidentally scalp themselves with a curling iron. Or people who lean nonchalantly against a skyscraper's wall and light up a cigarette, and a piece of debris from a returning space station cuts them exactly in half. They don't have much of a choice either, I daresay.

In fact, there were no more than a few dozen of men and women in history who succeeded in making a statement that proved forever to be unassailable.

Even that bloke who said "the only constant is change" was wrong.

So why are we even trying to say smart things? That is MY question. What's exactly the point? Whom are we trying to impress?

Totally agreed with you friend but in times of health issues we still have alot of choices to make.
