Psalm 82

1God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.


Then entire chapter of 82 refers to us as "gods". So if God judges amongst the "gods" and the word "god" doesn't just purely mean authority, how on God's green Earth could there only be one god? This verse CLEARLY says "among the GODS".

But yes there is one God, one AUTHORITY over us. We have authority ovwer the animals and various other people in this world depending on the situation, but yet we have one God over us all, one authority.

It is not placing Jesus above God the Father. Jesus is the way to God the father. The father has given us a mediator, Jesus. Jesus does the father's will and we do Jesus' will, thus we are doing the father's will. It's called chain of command in lamens terms.

First of all, I was not talking about the verse that says "ye are Gods". Listen for a second instead of assuming. This entire chapter refers to us as Gods. It's not talking about the kings, the people of authority. It is referring to God's creation, us in general.

So going with what you are saying is ment by us being called Gods, so this only applies to people of authority? They are the only one's that are children of God?

No he doesn't. God has no "needs". We don't love God because he needs it, we love him because we choose to, because we want to, because we love him and are thankful for everything he blesses us with and thankful for life in general that he has given each and everyone of us.

That is why we are called "children of God". Does a dog have kittens? Does a cat have puppies? No. So with us being the children of God, we ourselves would then be gods.

We are not born gods, we are not born with eternal life. We are made a new creation when one is "saved".

When you are born out of the womb, you are born of the flesh eg., you're a man or woman. Accepting Jesus Christ as LORD and saviour we are made a new creation. We have been given eternal life, we have been made gods eg., we are now children of God.

The WORD "God" means authority. We do not know Jesus' father's name, thus we just call him "God" showing his authority over us and humbling ourselves before him.

God himself is a live being just as you or I.

Again, no I've NEVER said "God" is a title of authority. That is why punctuation is used. God is capitolized because it is referring to a specific being, it is a title, a name so to speak.

If you'll notice while reading sometimes "god" is capitolized, sometimes not. Because again when it is capitolized it is referring to a specific being.
