Topic: Are any of these statements true?

I was chatting to my brother earlier today about something totally unrelated and we started talking about relationships and a man and woman's differing perspectives about how the other views fidelity. My brother's comments reminded me about these statements a man had written in response to an article that I saw in the newspaper this morning. What are your thoughts?

There's not a man I know who wouldn't have sex outside his marriage if he thought he could get away with it.

Men and women are completely different animals when it comes to sex. Women see sex and love as very closely related. Men, however, can love one woman while having red-hot sizzling sex with another.

When it comes to sex, women tend to want fidelity while men tend to want variety.

I am hoping none of those are true.

I believe that there are plenty of men who would be faithful to their wives, even if they could get away with it.

Women who are worried about what their husband might do, should instead focus on what they can control: How much sex he has with her. If she is keeping him busy, his eye will be much less likely to wander.

I think women tend to be more promiscuous than men.

The statement are direct quotes in response to the article.

I am not suggesting that they are gender specific. It just so happens that they were written by a man and my brother agreed with them.

You're writer is an arrogant self-righteous douche nugget.

Why?

If anyone thinks they can speak of behalf of a group of people, let alone 10 million males, they are a moron.

First off. Homosexuals don't think like that. (Not all anyway)

Second. Not all guys think like that. In fact, some guys are more prone to have a feminine like side; i.e., they love romance, and being devoted wholly to one person.

Third. I'm repulsed at the ideas that a dumb nugget can call it 'love' yet have 'sizzling-sex' with another. That's not love. Love is knowing that hurting your other would hurt you even more. Thus, the crime is not worth the punishment theory.

Fourth. Religious people. They tend to hold vows very distinctly. Of course not all, but if you are truly devout and get married, you just swore under and before God.. those terms don't come with small fine print.

Fifth. If that's how the guy really feels, then don't date, don't get married. Stay single and miserable while sleeping with everything with two legs and some knockers.

So, therefore, the statement is false, because he tried to be a dumbo and speak on behalf of all, which you can never do. It is NOT genetic as it does not just 'pop' into each and every single guy.

I want to be married and be faithful to that marriage. Period.

Furthermore...

You can lust over someone more than others, that still does not make it love. Love is the devotion to one, not numerous. So, in retrospect... that editor should be smacked.

Just saying..

1st question. Most men who don't get married do not want just one sex partner I would imagine. People who get married and have sex with other people are idiots in my opinion. If you are a sex addict don't get married lol.

2nd question: I think when a man or woman who is truly in love will not sleep with another person.

3rd question: Women want financial stability. Men want to support a woman. It is something in us that makes us want to support our woman.

For the most part this is probably true for both genders for a great many... but there are a large amount of people who do not think that way. Of course it is a really a hard thing to judge because the phrase "if he thought he could get away with it" is so speculative. I mean who is to say what anyone would really do if they KNEW they could get away with it? It is like the whole "if you could kill or hurt someone, would you do it if there was no chance you could get caught?" a lot of people have discussed over the years. Speaking only for myself, I would not cheat, but that is just me. It would not matter if I would not get caught, I would know I did it, and that would be more than enough.

I personally don't see why I can't have both with just that one person. I mean if I truly love this woman, I don't see why the sex can't be completely earth shattering.

When it comes to sex, women tend to want fidelity while men tend to want variety.

There is some truth to that statement as a lot of people want that, and who am I to say what any one person is seeking in life? I want passion and dedication though. Personally, with those I feel we would have complete fidelity with the addition of the adventure and variety we both would ideally seek.

It's funny you say that...I was reading another article about a man wanting to draw up a sex contract with his intended because his other relationships had ended due the woman not wanting to have sex anymore. The contract stated that his wife would have sex with him at least twice a week.

They may be true for some men (and women) but certainly not all.

It's unfortunate that some wives don't care for their husband's needs.

It's honest, in that he probably does believe that, but it's a projection of his own values and motivations onto other men. So he's being honest, but what he said isn't true.

Perhaps he wasn't meeting her needs and that's why she wasn't interested in sex with him anymore?
