Might I just allow you folks to hear my open thoughts here,and PLEASE,,feel free to comment and let me know yours.

I cannot tell you how many times I have tried and email someone here a short message as to something they may have posted,,or said in a reply on a post.
(it could be they need a prayer or a boost in moral- just to say welcome here, or anything OTHER than I'm HITTING ON THEM,lol)

And after typing it all out,,and hitting send,,

I get the message telling me that their preferences, STOPPED me sending them my thoughts?

Now,,I fully understand that we all only wish to be hit on,lol, THROUGH someone only fitting OUR PREFERENCES.

HOWEVER,,The MANY who I have had THIS happen with, are NOT a person I am HITTING ON, Just sending some kind words to.

NOW,,when THAT happens to me,,I may have invested five minutes to find THAT out,,and then,,there is no way short of speaking to them on a post,,to let them know that?


SO NOW,,this was written to discuss this and see what you folks think here,,,and MOSTLY,,to be telling THIS,,in a GROUP FORMAT, so the ones who might not remember they have THAT stopping others from writing to them,,might then look and check what they have AS their prefrences NOW showing?
My last one,,was because I was a smoker,,in MY profile to be read, I guess?,,because MOST times,,its my age here...lol
And FRIENDS,,,don't really have an age barier with me,,as to just be a friend on here?

I have NO preferences, and NO age limitations.

Occasionally I will reply with an explanation.

Ahh just do what I do. Friend request them. Then you can add a message to the request. They will either block ya or reply.

What I hate most that I've experienced alot more on other places like POF is people with weird age preferences.

Like I've had girls who MY AGE go and click those things that say they are intereted meeting me and then I go to msg them and I find out that have their profiles set so only guys who are say 21 - 26 yrs of age can msg them??

It's like you seriously couldn't have just said guys between the ages of 20-29?

Like I realize being 20 and 21 is a major difference....

anyways end of my rant. And btw Im in Canada now I just havent changed my profile on here. But so legal age isn't 21 here for those who might point that out as a reason :P


But yes I have noticed it can be frustrating with preferences sometimes.

I have went around them,,with sending them a friends request and putting my email to them within THAT,,and that works,,but much more involved than I really wanted to be,,with a simple,,pick me up,,nice job,,phrase for them to feel...lol

yes it is mos def the lazy approach but has worked so far. I don;t have any real qualms about whomever messaging me....cuz u can always block someone if they turn out to have 3 heads
