Topic: What Is Game Playing? | |
---|---|
And what is just protecting yourself from getting in too deep too soon? If you know from past experience that that is a weakness of yours.
If I get a message from a man that I find interesting, but intentionally delay my answer for a day to make sure that my first flush of excitement has worn off, is that playing games? Is it all about the intention? |

'Fraid so :-)
You play the game BECAUSE you need to protect yourself. One follows the other. It would be like, not answering the phone for a few more rings, so he does not think you anxious. Let the games begin. |

If you're doing anything that is not your natural response in order to make them think a certain way about you, you are playing games.

Anything done to 'get a rise' from the other person is playing games holding off returning a call to make them 'think' something or an other of you is playing games holding off returning a call until you feel more level headed is not,, |

I don't have the energy to be anyone but me. So, what you see is what you get. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Strip poker... Naked Twister... Drunk and naked Leap Frog or Duck Duck Goose. That is the right way to play games. True story. I'd define playing head games as somebody who's open and real one minute, then closed off and sophomoric the next. Past can dictate this, more specifically past relationships. |

Is it all about the intention? That's not considered playing games that's what many call the 2 day rule. Playing games is when you intentionally lead the other person on. You do things that make the other person believe you have their interest at heart when in reality you're messing with their mind and heart to get what you want. That's why I believe it is always best to be honest with people about what you want out of a relationship. |

I'd rather get full on honesty then waste my time with someone who has zero interest in me at all, even as a friend. I've had this happen a lot and I'm not going backward. Not this time. I'd rather ignore everyone in the meantime. Go out and live my life. The buck stops when bullshcitt is ramped. |

Is it all about the intention? Yes, that is playing games. Along with waiting to call and waiting to text. You may send the message that you're not very interested if you put off responding to them. |

That is tough question to actually answer. I think there is a fine line between game playing and just being cautious. I personally have never cared for games that most play while dating. The one that comes to mind is when the guys says " I will call you tomorrow". Really, do men think I am dumb enough to wait around for a call? Or when the guy pulls away from you suddenly and is not as close. I would take both as signals as time for me to move on. I think as adults we should know in our minds what we want or don't want. If you aren't sure you want to be with a person; then have the guts to say so. Leave the game playing for the kids.

Its our job to catch it and set the little boys of world straight. |
