Does age truly determine maturity?Does d maxim go "grey with wisdom" actually applicable to all persons? I ask these questions bcos I was in a relationship with a 52year old man who behaved like a teenager. He just couldn't handle a grown woman,he acted out at every and any given opportunity even throwing tantrums. I cant remember d last time I was in such a situation...So,I ask again, What has maturity got to do with age?

Age gives you the opportunity (in years) to be more mature but has nothing to do with someone taking advantage of it.

I found a good little article on maturity in "Maggie Madly Writing" ..Talked about emotional maturity, spiritual maturity, and intellectual maturity....Bottom line is maturity has little to do with age (give ManO a gold star)...
There was a quote in the article from Einstein in which he said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results every time." Maggie says maybe insanity should be changed to immaturity , I agree... She listed these as some signs of maturity (all very good): Being open minded... Able to listen... Accepting that others are different... Understanding that you cannot change peeps... She also said mature people LEARN more from their mistakes than their successes...... |

On behalf of all immature men I say, "I don't wanna grow up and I don't see a reason why I should."

I certainly do expect some appreciable measure of emotional maturity from a 50+ man.It should come with d territory. It sure was an interesting experience,I must say.

Maturity in age is something that affects cheese and alcohol.

I have males that acted like grown men at 30 and I have met males who acted like children at 60. It all depends on the person.

I agree that age has nothing to do with maturity. I know very mature teenagers and on the flip side... older men who act out their toddler years.
