He is the way he is because he is of a bad heart. I cannot blame it on him being Saudi because his best friends treat me with respect and love and they know how to smile and laugh from their hearts. He rarely laughs. Everytime he fights with me, he remembers to tell me about how much he loves his ex-wife and how he wishes he could go back to her. That is, until the day he found out she is remarried and has a baby daughter. She remarried not long after their divorce.

So many times I have wished I was married to his best friend Omar instead. Omar and I have so much in common and we are always laughing and teasing each other as if we had known each other our whole lives.

I lost my best friend of 12 years over the girl who turned out to be the love of my life, and we had a couple of years filled with happiness. Was it worth losing my best friend? Absolutely. The only thing holding any of us back from living the lives we truly want is fear. Fear of hurting others, ourselves, fear of failure, fear of the unknown, and fear of heartbreak. I say ditch that miserable ******* of a husband and choose a path that will bring you joy. If I may be so bold.

As much as I wish I could say that you have a great point, I cannot go to his best friend. The Saudi culture is harsh like that. The moment I leave my husband's side is the day Omar is closed from my life completely of his own volition. It is a heart-breaking sacrifice I have to make. And I have to accept the consequences.
