I hear ya. I thought Boy George was the cutest guy I ever saw. Television was my babysitter. Mr. Rogers could have been my father for as much time as I got to spend with my father. I think it has made a lot of us more tolerant. I can remember my friends asking me. "You do know Boy George is a guy, right?" laugh When Eddie Murphy did his rendition of Mr. Rogers I just about lost it. "Children this is how you answer the door in my neighborhood." I think a lot of children were raised on television and switch to the Internet is even more helping a lot of us to blend in and to be ourselves even easier.

My parents cemigrated to the UK in the late 50's from the Caribbean and it took a while for them to acclimatise..so we (my siblings and I) relied on TV and I agree, I think that's how young people use the internet today - if you can call porn blending in laugh

Any where near Nevis Island? My ancestor had a sugar plantation there in 1642. It was on the northwest corner of Nevis Island.

No. I hadn't even heard of Nevis Island until you mentioned it and had to look it up. I've heard of St Kitts but not Nevis...learn something new every day

Several years ago my niece had Cancer and needed a bone marrow transplant and I talked the local Bar in having a benefit for her. I said I would wait on tables during the benefit so they wouldnt have to hire extra help. 2 of the regulars said they would donate $50 apiece if I dressed up like a Woman. I relunctedly agreed and 3 ;adoes spent 2 hours waxing my legs, fitting a wig etc. It happended that one couple walked in not knowing what was going on and she told her friend that that WAS the ugliest woman she had ever seen!! Once they found out what was going on they had a good laugh and donated $20. It was embassing for me but we raised over $800 for her procedure!!laugh
