…calling/texting someone that you’ve ‘met’ online?
I’m not a stranger to internet dating and I consider myself to be a generally confident/outgoing person but I still get nervous about calling/texting someone who mails me their number. Am I on an island on my own or it it populated? |

I make my dog do it for me...see he even has his headset on

That is your self-preservation instinct kicking in and should not easily be dismissed.
I am cool with yapping with anyone...now, I get nervous and giddy when I fly out to the coast to be with my woman. But, that is just cause I am sooo freaking excited. |

I only get nerious the first time we talk on the phone, text im usually cool with. The first time we meet im a little nerious too but it passes pretty fast

I always get really nervous, Example I finally work up the nerve to call someone I met on here & I got the voice mail...lol

I think that you've hit the nail on the head..I think it is self preservation. I can talk to the world and his wife without getting nervous but as soon as someone expresses an interest in me, that's when the nerves kick in. They (the nerves), don't last long but they are noticeable. |

Being the semi control freak that I am, I always text to ask when would be a good time to call so no voicemail.

yes i get nervous... i dont give my number out to very many people around here... so everytime is still a little nerve wracking... I'm cool giving out my mobile. I've been quite lucky so far and I haven't been pestered...that's not entirely true. I only had one 'pest' but I didn't mind him - kept hoping he'd realise that he met the woman of his dreams . I never give out my landline.
