We'll have to keep everyone in our prayers that it's not as bad as everyone thinks it may be. It is mediocre as hurricanes go but it's going to hit areas where the housing has never seen one so the damage will be high. It has more to do with the housing density than anything else. Some building code requirements (like not using staples to attach roof shingles) may be a big issue. True, buildings built before the codes were changed are the problem. Lumber needs more than screws and nails to hold..those little metal clips, don't look like much, but when used on all studs...they work. Hopefully the ones who didn't evacuate will have stached plenty of supplies, medicines and water. We might have to send them the "Vivian Rescue Squad".

I was fortunate. The only hassle from the storm was no hot water. The basement in my apt complex flooded but other than that all is well!
