Topic: What is sin, really? | |
---|---|
.. so question.. fornicating with myself.. is that a sin. . I mean you know what I mean..hmm. . and who here without sin may throwout the first stone... another question.. if you're in a committed relationship. and the Bible says.. at least I think it does.. . that you're not even supposed to think about other women..yes..?.. . it makes it really hard in today's age and time.. when they plaster beautiful half naked women everywhere.. . I mean they walk down your street even. we have all seen them.. wearing those tight spandex pants. . so what is a guy supposed to do.. . it's hard to turn a blind eye..hmm.. .. just wondering.. Touching yourself is not a sin, from what I hear the girls say- your love making is the sin. |

It's strange what desire will make foolish people do. I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you. And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you. No, I don't want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart) No, I don't want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart) With you (This world is only gonna break your heart) What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way. What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you. What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way. What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and, I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart) No, I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart) With you. Sin= liberalism.

Sin= liberalism. I almost responded to this the same way I responded to first watching two girls/one cup |

sin is something that break the rules of god and disobey the god,and try to harm somebody ,there are different types of sins.
|
|

|
Anything that is contrary or contradicts the commandments of God.
Just like law by man...anything contrary or contradicts the law of any of our governing agencies is called crime. Breaking Gods law is sin, breaking mans law is crime and since God commanded we follow laws of the land... I guess when we break that its sinful crime. |

Gods word does say it is better for man to bare his seed in the belly of a whore than on the ground. Yet it still results as sin I suppose since fornication is considered sin as well. Thank God for grace cause with out im SCREWED!!!!!

I think sin is comparable to what crime can be to a society. Therefore I do not think sin is only applicable to religion. But I think religion has defined it in such a way there really is no judge. The judges in a religious context (i.e. priests or church leaders) cannot really say whether one is at fault and "sinful", because sin is a matter of the heart and spirit. And no one can really look inside someone's soul.
Another fault with the belief in certain things being "sinful" and others not being "sinful" is that everyone belonging to a religious group or spiritual group (if they dare to claim a relationship with God rather than a church/group) have varying beliefs on what is "sinful" or not. Also, circumstances can define what can be sinful. I think that the only real sin is if you are vindictive to someone or yourself. In that, you are failing to respect yourself, others and whatever spiritual being you associate with. |

When the authors of religious texts penned the word sin it was a germanic term which meant literally "a truth".
Later, at the height of mediaeval dogma, when boldness was popularly regarded as unchristian the meaning changed to become first, "a guilt" and then "an offence against God", but these are later dogmatic colloquials and not the actual intended meaning of the term by authors in etymology, at the time of first usage in religious texts. Like much later period religious dogma, it is a case of a mistranslated colloquial being inadvertently used to misrepresent much earlier religious texts and thus the original intentions of the religion itself. There's lots of examples of this, the many many things pentacostals, or biblical literalists don't even understand they're so very wrong about, because they believe in the literal truth of a mistranslation. Sin means a truth. A guilt is simply a truth. When one is freely spoken it is no longer a guilt, it is simply a truth. In dogma the meaning changed so that sin is a secret. Now what that creates is a dynamic, something which can be manipulated, and in the days before modern forensics and organized police investigations bodies the only way you governed a community was by manipulating them individually, using any predictable dynamic you could. But now that those days are over and police can police and governments can govern, we can get back to correct etymology and translations of early religious texts and don't have to misrepresent them to manipulate people with falsehoods. So, sin means a truth. That's what it meant when it was written. |

sin has differents meaning, though to sinners it may be meaningless cus its an addicted habbit, it is what they ve been used to do.

sin has differents meaning, though to sinners it may be meaningless cus its an addicted habbit, it is what they ve been used to do. Sin doesn't necessarily have different meanings. If it's used in reference to religion, or just used as a word in general. Means disobedience. If that's disobedience to your parents, to the government, or to God. If it's disobedience then it's a sin. |

When people talk about 'sin' I draw a blank. What is it really? I think it is a term used by Religions and has no meaning whatsoever outside of a religious context. |
