I am not familiar with the Shiite and Suni thing. I don't know what their problem is.

When Mohammad died he left behind two people who one was to be named successor but the naming never happened. Basically it was like Rome without a Pope. Now when one of the two people was chosen there was a HUGE disagreement between the faction who wanted the other person chosen. I am not naming names because I don't remember them. You can find more information of this conflict by looking up "Shiite Suni war" or "Conflict" and it spells out it was a fight over which person would succeed Mohammad as the leader (Caliph) of Islam. In essence it is like the Eastern Orthodox Church and Rome having a war. This bitterness has also caused a split in who's flavor of Islam is true. That ADDS more fuel for the fire. Now again I view the written word on several merits but one I will not overlook how the situation with people ignoring Hitler's own words in Mein Kamph happened to be his agenda. Well, the Quaran spells it our pretty well. They are out to dominate the world by brutal subjugation. With them it is a matter of time before they feel froggy enough to leap. I can not get behind tolerating a religion that will not tolerate me. God I could see visiting Mecca and now giving into their customs. Just walking in grace among them is not good enough. And if I stood up for a woman not covering her face by her choice... I would love to see the tolerance there. Please tell me otherwise PLEASE! When Islam gives up the Quaran I will breath easier. How about living in a place where kissing the one you love in public IS a death sentence more than likely for her or both? From other stuff you said you are way to independent to survive long under Sharia law. THAT IS THE LAW OF ISLAM and most of its punishments involve whippings, amputations, and murder. It is one thing to execute a prisoner who's actions fit the punishment but to kill a woman for Adultery when she had sex with her boyfriend when she wasn't married? how about kids killed because of something one of their parents did? How about the idea you can sell your children? How about the fact that Sharia Law allows slavery? Still feeling tolerant??? So do they get to live here and impose their laws here too? There are muslim extremists yeah, but there are extremists in every world view. And not all muslims are bloodthirsty savages who want to rule the world. There are many who simply go about their daily business like everyone else. The Quran has violent passages and peaceul passages, as has been explained earlier. The bible has violent passages as well as peaceful passages and a hell of a lot of violence has ben done in its name. (doesnt matter how long ago those attrocities were, the bible hasn't changed.) Now wouldn't you say christianity has a greater influence on American culture? They even have a phrase printed on dollars. Shouldnt you be more terrified by christians? They seem more of a pressing threat. Every one of them is just frothing at the mouth to launch anoth crusade and burn women for being witches. Right? |

what i heard is that this 'mega' mosque is more than just a regular mosque. It has a prayer area for muslims, yeah, but doesn't it also have prayer/meditation areas for other faiths? For muslims and others to be praying to their respective faiths under one roof sounds like a pretty big middle finger to the Islamic extremists. (unless of course, ALL muslims everywhere are terrorists, eh? ... pfft) Indonesia, Sudan, Egypt, Yemen, what have they all in common? Islamic Majorities. Now what do they also have in common especially in recent history? Violence aimed at Churches and Christians. This includes murdering Christians. So you tell me, they might not all be terrorists but what happens when they have the majority and likewise the Mob Mentality takes over??? Mob mentality fueled violence is not a sole product of Islam or muslims. Christians have been just as guilty in the past. But it is not just a religious product either. Nazi germany for example. Mob violence against minorities has also occured due to racial motivations, political differences and countless other reasons. Sometimes the majority will act violently, other times they will lash out with lies, slurs and generalisations in an attempt to demonise them.
