Topic: Male birth control? | |
---|---|
You're generalizing based on a few women you know, I guess? I would say the majority of women I know (friends in real life)who are not wanting to become pregnant right now are using some form of birth control. They're certainly not all sleeping around. In addition to that, several use it to even just regulate their period. That's fairly common when it comes to the pill. Yeah, okay. That goes over about as well as using it to regulate "acne" for me. |

Huh, interesting. Now I'm curious.. are there a lot of men who see birth control other than condoms as a red flag?

I do but, like you mentioned there's other uses for it as well, so it would depend.

No, I'd rather just use common sense and decency. If you need to take a pill or anything to stop you from having babies, you have bigger problems. Hear, hear! Agreed. One other question, though: But with the burden of pregnancy falling largely to females, some women say they wouldn't count on it alone. Aside from the movie "Junior" with Ah-nuld!, have there been men giving birth? |

So, you think common sense and decency is going to prevent ALL pregnancies, yes? Nothing will ever happen to change that unless you want to have a baby on purpose? |

In my experience, the "mistakes" are hardly mistakes at all. And at least 90% of the time a condom prevents anything...Of course, it all really doesn't matter much to me because I really don't care for sex. Don't want to have kids, use condoms, want to have kids...Don't use condoms, even birth control fails more than condoms. |

The guys are not the ones to get pregnant so I don't think they would be taking a pill everyday "just in case" they get laid. They are not like woman. they can't get it whenever they want. I agree, why bother when you have no idea when you will get laid. but for women I think it is the same as far as being on birth control. I only took it when I was living with my boyfriend for 4 years...in which case I was pretty much guaranteed some action...but the same can be said about female birth control, hence my last statement. But yay, maybe a guy can take birth control while in a committed relationship, which is basically the only time the female will usually take it anyways. I think the fear of a kid would motivate a man to be on the "pill". Baby entrapment works both ways...it's not just chicks trying to get pregnant to trap a man, I got trapped, REAL GOOD, and that was all him---GOLDDIGGERS! Pfffft! |

I was starting to wonder. |

My idea on this is that maybe it would work in a couple situation and that only. Though why can't the woman just be on birth control as that already exists and they even have kinds that don't require a pill. For single people it won't work. They guys are not the ones to get pregnant so I don't think they would be taking a pill everyday "just in case" they get laid. They are not like woman. they can't get it whenever they want. For one, peace of mind comes to mind. No worries about whether the woman is actually on birth control, or worrying about if the condom breaks, right? How often does a condom actually break when used properly... |

I just wouldn't trust a single method. Best to have all bets covered if you can see what I mean.

I've never had it happen Simone, but have known a couple of people who had it happen. Obviously, I was not there, so I don't know if they were using condoms correctly or not. It was just an example.
The purpose of this thread was not to try and talk men into taking birth control pills. I was just curious about what people thought. |

Thats because birth control has to be taken at the same time every single day...and if you mess it up, you have to start all over, but cant start until the first day after your last period, blah blah blah....who has time or frame of mind for all that pressure. Then God forbid we take a shot of depro or minera IUD or something which is known to pack on TEN pounds to a women, in which case then we probably wont get laid anyways... |

The only time i hear of a busted condom is when a girl or guy cuts the tip on purpose or they use baby oil instead of a legit lube....which it clearly states on the package, this would apply mostly to the YOUNGSTERS i think out there having inexperienced sex and not following the rules... |

For those who think birth control other than condoms is a red flag, what do you think of a guy getting a vasectomy or a woman getting her tubes tied?
