Sure if you aren't sort of committed or dating exclusively with one person.

But even then, some flirting is harmless, other flirting is used for the purpose of feeling the other person out.

I only flirt when paid to do so.

I think that mostly depends on your relationship and how far along it is. It also depends on the other persons feelings and their personality.
I've had guys I was with, that flirted just in good fun. It was just part of they're outgoing personalities. As long as its harmless, or jokingly and the person your flirting with knows it. Then you should be fine.

it would be an affront (rude) to flirt with another woman in her presence while you are occupied with her (the first one)

otherwise , it's perfectly acceptable , but I still advise caution as I had a male friend who lost all of his girlfriends because they all got wind of his various flirtations

he ended up with no one. He was not boyfriend material because he was a player or at least gave that impression

and most girls you'd want to date won't date someone who is not boyfriend material for long if at all
