While pondering a response from another thread, I thought ID ask about the different perceptions of what constitutes 'class'.
Some think it has to do with status or money or education,,yet I dont think its about that I found this cool little bit that defines 'class', as I see it.....(except the NEVER statements, I dont believe in NEVER statements) Class never runs scared. It is sure-footed and confident in the knowledge that you can meet life head-on and handle whatever comes along. Those who have class have wrestled with their own personal “angel” and won a victory that marks them thereafter. Class never makes excuses. It takes its lumps and learns from past mistakes. Class is considerate of others. It knows that good manners are nothing more than a series of petty sacrifices. Class bespeaks an aristocracy that has nothing to do with ancestors or money. The most affluent blue blood can be totally without class while the descendant of a Welsh miner may ooze class from every pore. Class never tries to build itself up by tearing others down. Class is already up and need not strive to look better by making others look worse. Class can “walk with kings and keep it’s virtue, and talk with crowds and keep the common touch.” Everyone is comfortable with the person who has class- because he is comfortable with himself. If you have class, you don’t need much of anything else. If you don’t have it, no matter what else you have – it doesn’t make much difference. -Howard E. Ferguson, Author of The Edge what is it you find to be 'classy'? |

 Someone who doesn't swear. Someone who dresses different to the hip-hop style. Somebody slick. Lol

Well.
You know it when you see it, feel it, touch it, hear it, smell it or taste it. So, I would think it is like love. All your senses make the call. You cannot beg, borrow or steal it. All you can do is be it, or be near it. Seems like a good thing to aspire to. |

Class is all about attitude. To me this includes knowing what to wear to certain places, standing by your friends and not running to safety(hence the running scared line) Class has understanding and maturity...

To me, class is not defined by a person's "bloodline",financial status or material possessions.
I see class as in how a person interacts with others. The moral and value standpoint of the person. The sense of not being better than anyone else just because you have something someone else does not, or more of something than someone else. And in that same aspect, do not regard someone just because of what they have, but regarding someone by the person's character and who they are. And not judge someone because of where they came from, the color of their skin, or religion that they believe in or do not believe in. To have compassion and empathy for your fellow man or woman. |

Class is an acceptance of what a person has been given in life, making the best of it without having to stand on others heads to be the best they can be. It is a self respect and love that radiates out to all. A classy person is always going to try to take the high road in life. |

Class is having manners. Class is having and showing respect for yourself and others. |

Class is being humble, genuinely kind, considerate and emitting a love and respect for this earth and everything on it. It's listening more than talking and giving more than receiving. It's putting in a hard days work and being thankful when the day is over. To me, classy people are family oriented and strive to keep that unit close. They have a reverance for something bigger...their Creator.

I agree with everyone elses definitions. Msharmony herself has class. I've read replies not made to insult but well thought out & considerate of others. A high level of respect for others. All shows in how one carries themselves.

Msharmony herself has class. I was going to say that, but I've already complimented her so many times, that I figured people might talk. Msharmony needs no education in what "class" is. I may have to rethink this being an atheist thing.

Class is polite, but doesn't put up with BS.
Class is outstanding without standing out. Class is giving value to others. Class is leading by example. Class can take it as well as dish it out. Class is interesting as well as being interested. Class is cool, but with style. |

Well it seems that everybody is trying to describe the CLASS as SUPERIORITY / EXCELLENCE.
