Topic: What did you learn from your first love? | |
---|---|
My first love was all sweetness and kindness and loving, we were 18 and 20 respectively. It was wonderful and full of wonder. A perfect romance. I sometimes wonder how his life turned out and always hope it is splendid.
My next love taught me, finally, to hit back hard!!! My real love died of cancer 5 and a 1/2 years ago, he taught me what love is, how is behaves, how is shows itself, how totally valuable it is. He taught me that I don't want to live the rest of my life without it. I am in love now, difficult do to distance, lots of distance, but love just as real as real can be. |

i learned that no matter how much work you put into building a relationship if its not meant to be its just not meant to be plain and simple

What did you learn from your first love? That I was foolish not to savor in those magical moments even more than I did when they were happening, which is pretty unimaginable actully because they were incredibly happy times! I should have soaked them up more because I didn't know then that I'd never experience love like that again. He taught me how to love and be loved, the tenderness involved in making love, and that love can last a lifetime. All of which are important lessons I treasure to this day. ![]() Ironically, we just started talking again after more than twenty years. And he's single... ![]() And I've been single my whole life, I'm about to graduate from college in a matter of days, my kid's graduating from high school in a few weeks, and then I'm free to go where I want, do what I want! Hmmmmm...if I didn't know any better, I'd think this might be a sign or something! Maybe I could still learn from my first love! ![]() |

From my first love, I learned about emotional
manipulation. He said, unless you marry me, I will walk away. It sorely traumatized me because, when I could not decide, I mean, I loved him, I just was not ready, he walked away when I did not answer the doot. Three days later he died. So, when my first husband asked me to marry him, I threw up. I was terrified to say no. |

What did you learn from your first love? That if I wanted "love", then I should play tennis. |

My real love died of cancer 5 and a 1/2 years ago, he taught me what love is, how is behaves, how is shows itself, how totally valuable it is. He taught me that I don't want to live the rest of my life without it. My late wife died from cancer-related problem. She taught me the same thing. |

That men will only use you and play with your feelings. My ex-wife did the same to me. So, men don't have a monopoly on that sort of behavior. |
