People are different.. Some think differently, act different;y, speak differently, believe differently... But you always know the "true good people" even if you don't think, act, speak or believe the same way...

For me....

I am a stranger in a strange land here...predominantly US posters...

many way less gregarious than I...many who read my posts with thin skins...and react.

it is tricky...for them and for me...I can remember a time where every time I typed I was in the naughty corner, even before we had mods!

For those who have learnt me...they get me..

I am hard, I am direct, I use colloquialisms that most are clueless as to what I am saying...I have strong and powerful beliefs, and share them...wanted or unwanted..


underlying all that....beats a heart...a soft heart...and when it's required it is there.

I am not necessarily good.....I am real...and those that know this....know this.

I know what you're saying.. In the US we treat things delicately for some reason, I think it's b/c of our reputation but in truth not all are so rough.. In other countries they speak the truth and it is as it is.. I respect that..

I get you, I've always found you hilarious and could tell you were a good hearted person.. I used to think you disliked me but then somehow we clicked and I realized you didn't and have seen that "heart" you speak of more since...

...we read all these people...sharing whatever aspect of themselves they feel safe sharing...some we (that's the royal 'we', meaning 'me') stomp all over...others we tend to ignore, or not relate to...


but over time, as we learn their way of expressing themselves here, in this one dimensional tin can...we understand them more...and accept them..

I've seen it over and over...

I so agree! And some you just know from the beginning that they are "soft" souls and need some caring.. others you learn later that the souls are fragile and all they ever needed was a bit of caring...

Truly this site has helped me to grow as a person and the people I've become friends with have helped as well..

And still remember the bit of bashing I got when I first began to post

When I fell for someone here, I went
back and read all their posts, back
to the beginning, years ago.

I was so appalled I have not recovered,
at the way he was treated as a
newcomer on Mingle2. It would not be
tolerated past a minute, now.

But it was excruciating to read, the
taunts, and insults, one after the other
as all the 'regulars' said horrid things
to the 'newbie.'

Some of them I cannot even chat with, or
join their posts, I am so angry that they
got away with it. Like they were 'entitled'
to subject new people to some kind of
initiation, set by them alone.

So, I am VERY aware of people's feelings
especially the new people, innocently
wanting to join in. New blood keeps us
pulsing. We were all new at one time.

Just one question Lee...what's a colloquialisms?

Yep Yep Yep I am still a newbie, and it can be scary when you first post. although I was lucky and everyone was nice, but if they were not, I probably would have given them as good back.
But for the ones who are more sensitive it would scare them off and thats sad as most people on here are really caring and great friends, I love the place.

i find it harder to figure people out on line, although some people are able to convey emotion through this sea of anonymity. the few i have had the honor of meeting in person lived up to their on line personality

Unless you are stupid like me and have to learn about people the hard way.
