Romance dead? Geez I hope not ...

I was hoping there was still a chance to share that with someone...

I'm the kind of guy, I am a hopeless romantic. But I do it because I was raised as a southern gentleman. That's how I was raised. I do open the door, and I do pull out the chair. Not because I want you to feel like you owe me something, but because I want to. Because it's nice. I've had so many friends ***** to me about that there are no more nice guys. And the one comment that irks me to no end is when the girl looks me dead in my eyes and tells me something like this:

"You are the most amazing guy. I wish I could find someone just like you. I'd be the happiest woman alive."

Sometimes, I just wanna reach out and become Captain Smack-A-*****. That pisses me off.

And I do have to agree with FPBN and the other women that aren't into the romance, a guy has to be an equal. I'm an equal, but I promise you I'm still a romantic. Chivalry runs in my bones. And it's not comin out. Women just don't like that anymore though. I hate it.

Chivalry I'm not opposed to admitting still lives. Just lives very very very far away, and is about 20 yrs too young.

I don't know, I don't believe romance is dead, I think people have just grown a little too jaded. I know I love those little romantic gestures but I don't believe they're going to last so while I appreciate them, I try not to put too much stock in them. Makes me sad, though, that I feel that way. I'd love to be proven wrong

Isnt romance dependant on the person?

some might love candle lit dinners, others might find cuddling up with a film romantic.

I went on one date, we went ice skating, on an outdoor rink, it was dark out and it was just us two, neither of us could skate so we spent the entire time holding each other up, we got really close and it was a lovely night, that night to me was more romantic than doing the whole traditionally romantic thing.
