Mexican drug lord's family: He's suffering in jail

MEXICO CITY – The imprisoned "godfather" of Mexican drug trafficking is looking more like a grandfather these days, with cataracts, deafness, ulcers and a hernia, his family wrote in a rare open letter to Mexico's top police official Tuesday.
The wife and children of imprisoned drug lord Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo, 67, said in a letter to Public Safety Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna that Felix Gallardo is not getting the proper medications for his multiple ailments and is being mistreated in prison. The letter was published as an almost full-page ad in Mexico City newspapers.

He sells drugs. What if with connections they opened the border without violence,as his family could write to the Cartell who he works for, well, maybe he could get treated like an american in a mexican jail!!!!! LOL Let him sit in his own mess he chose to make. If his family was so concerned they could have helped him as some of these medical conditions only develope over long periods of time. Sell some medicinal drugs to help people get well as he is so good at it. I say yes, let karma do it's job and I think that more than a few months is nothing, how about years....There are alot of sick people and not only in jail not being treated properly with medical care around the world. So he is special? Maybe solitary confinement with the peaceful quiet would help him heal!

i'm sure all the people and their families whos lives are ruined that his drugs he sold did to them would disagree with you... and why doesn't his family pay for a doctor? did they spend all of the drug money already?

Want to keep drug lords from coming into being to begin with? End the War On Drugs and decriminalize drug use. Prohibition always breeds crime.

not wishing, but not feeling sorry either...are we supposed to feel sorry for everyone that is in prison? he did the crime, now he does the time... there is no reason for him to be treated any differently than anyone else that is in prison...
