But at times I see the hazy discomfort behind your pearly white smile and your olive shaped eyes.

That is no surprise to me

I hear the sadness in your stories and know that you wish for a better way

Why can’t I .. you ask time and time again

Your not asking for the whole experience out front, but at least you want to know what it really feels like.. as do many other woman.



How many nights have passed since you were really happy?

Working days and nights when your not in school

to get your life right for the sake of the family

Making the little bit when you do work …to keep off the line of not having.

Just to invest your time spent into keeping a smile on the only one that truly loves you unconditionally looking into the eyes birthed from your loins as he stands clueless in this heavily jacked up situation



But keep your head high goddess

There’s something special waiting for you just beyond the horizon.

Your strong will and drive won’t go unrewarded

I’m not doing this for me

My son needs this

I can play the role of both parents but I don’t want to because I don’t have to.

I am tired of holding the dreams of us both in my head

So many things that I want to accomplish for myself had been put on the back burner just because I was blinded by loneliness

I wanted to feel complete

now that I am ..

Why doesn’t it feel that way at times?



I am tired of crying

I’m so much stronger now because of you.. So thank you



Thank you for giving me something even if you thought by not giving me made you feel like the man you are… thank you.



I have something special waiting for me and it has been for a while now.



It just needs time to mature..

It just needs time and nourishment

It just needs time to learn and to comprehend

And when it does.. the hazy discomfort that I hid

all the pain that cocooned me from your cruelty will finally shed and fade away

The smile I smiled then will shine like precious stones

And my eyes will brighten like the sun shining down on mother earth



So she keeps her head high
