I am considering cancelling my Sprint contract and picking up a pay as you go cell phone. What would be a good plan? Is it worth it? I don't use mine very much so a plan seems to expensive. Any info would be appreciated...........smokin

I did the same thing and I am with T-Mobile. Go to Wal-mart, pick out your 97 cent phone...and unlimited talk and text for 45 a month...I am happy with it happy And they do have the latest phones with their plans....

I never even had a cell until my ex bought me a tracphone. The minutes cost about $10/month, I think. I don't know who the carrier is because I so seldom use it. It sounds to me that by having a plan, you are paying a lot for things that are of no value to you.

I tried the trac-phone and never had good receptioon. Calls were dropped all of the time. Wal-mart carries that one too. Mine isn't on a plan, it is simply a month to month basis

I had a Tracphone before. I couldn't think of the name. I rarely text but would like the option to text. I probably only talk like 10 hours a month on the cell if that......smokin

Texting ability seems to be the feature that really draws people into a plan. I have never texted, but I haven't found any mode of communications that suits me better than email.

i use my cell a lot, talk and text. i started out back in the day with southwestern bell. the phone looked like a brick and the battery had a carrying case. heavy somabitch but you could call anytime anywhere. then the company change from analog to digital and the name to cingular. sux, dropped calls and charges for everything. so i tried verizon, credit check and the phones were expensive, but no dropped calls and good customer service, it's just expensive. then i tried sprint. phones are more affordable, but still pricey, service sux and poor customer service. currently i'm with tmobile. service is ok, with some areas with no services, customer service varies a lot from store to store, currently the plan i have is expensive. family and friends keep telling me to try pocket or cricket

Hell no.

I have tried ALL of the pay as you go providers.....yes, it is less expensive...great if you don't need to call Oregon or Iowa or Dallas or Amarillo....

I just asked at a Radio Shack kiosk in our mall. I went with the plan and the phone the sales chick had. I got an Android with unlimited local, long distance and internet. Zero $ down....$70 a month. First bill had a $35 activation fee.

DO NOT GO TO A SPRINT STORE!!!!!!!! Go to Radio Shack or Best Buy. They redeem all rebates at the register. Sprint Stores will charge you alot of cash then you gotta wait for weeks to get $140 back.

I only go to the Sprint store to use thier atm payment machine.

All in all A far superior product with way better connections plus unlimited Mingling. (Easier to do with the BlackBerry)

I am staying with at&t and my IPhone. Best thing ever invented. I have unlimited texts, calls and internet at the tip of my fingers. Very reliable and useful.

I pay 29 a month for unlimited talk and texts and internet. Is the only phone, no landline. Bargain!

DO NOT go with Straight Talk.

I'm on T-Mobile now, it's OK.

If Verizon has a pred-pay phone, go for that. I may look into this myself.

I had straight talk and it was alright till they started screwing with me, now I have verizon, and it is a pre-pay, pay as you go plan. Happy with it so far..

Sweet! I'm going to look at them, thanks.

Yes, Straight Talk is OK until you have to call them, and you WILL have to call them.
