Topic: If nobody responds... | |

"to your call, move alone" this is the meaning of a song composed by "Tagore", a Nobel prize winner for his collection "Gitanjali".
Sometimes we try to do something special/great and often we don't get support from others; but we should not stop rather we should continue. Do you feel like this? |

I've reached the point where I don't expect anything from anybody else, let alone support and/or understanding. I just do what I do; what anyone else thinks of it, or whether they even think of it at all, is none of my concern.

I try to do what I feel is right at the time, if you go seek the support of others then you may have missed your chance or the problem has gotten out of control. You have to believe in yourself first...

I KEEP trying to be LOVED,,and I am NOT DOING THAT WELL! BUT,,,I KEEP ON KEEPING ON! To be real,,I am on here MORE,,,as a HELP AID,,,to shattered hearts than I am on here to find ONE.... And THATS an emptiness of being,,,but a great fulfilment to me, as I know THEIR better through THAT,,because they had no-one who really gave a damn about hearing their problems or becoming their friend,,in life,, or on here...SO,,THAT my friend,,is ALL the rewards I truly need. A partner in life,,would just be to KNOW,,I was Blessed... Oh,,by the way,,THIS is a nice post,..Have a great weekend.. |

Giving up is a sign of weakness & defeat! My scruples may get shattered from time to time. But, like Humpty Dumpty I pick up the pieces & glue what's left back together again...always leaving little shattered pieces behind me. |

Yes, I have felt this way all my life. I have never had support from family or friends when I try new things or accomplish anything. Guess everyone is to caught up in their own life to care. |

I don't think that "to your call, move alone" means that in doing something great you will not always find support...I think it means more that only you can move to greatness through your own personal calling, no so much in that you bring greatness to yourself through that but that you bring greatness to the world through trying to follow through with your calling or path |

Sorry... I have always been fortunate enough to have had my small family and small circle of friends support whatever insanity I pursue....I have always felt bad for those who haven't had the same kind of support.... But even the support I get is cause I will push the issue...."Back me up or be on your way" Personal ambition, drive, motivation and determination don't actually require any one else's blessings. I am where I am because it is what I chose for myself....if people want to apprecieate me for it...fine....it is something I wanted for myself and took it by the throat...I asked for no ones blessings. The people who don't apprecieate what I have gone through to be where I am at are not my concern...they are always unhappy and unsatisfied with themselves...I can't fix that for them. |

I've reached the point where I don't expect anything from anybody else, let alone support and/or understanding. I just do what I do; what anyone else thinks of it, or whether they even think of it at all, is none of my concern. Well after reaching certain level we become more matured and bother little of other's support or view, but before reaching to that level supports may help us greatly. |

Why is there an expectation of others to support us in the first place?
Do we do something special to get something from someone else? SO there's an agenda attached to what special thing is done? No expectations , no disappointments. Do what you do, for you...NEVER for the glory from others. I never do anything with an expectation of something back from someone else..I would be a complete selfish git, to do that! I do what I do...and enjoy what I do...for the simple pleasure of doing it...selfish?...you betcha!... |

I have high expectations of myself and everyone else.
There is no future in low expectations. Most people with extremely low expectations have had them systematically lowered due to fast food, cheap pasta, high volume beer, the internet and cable tv. I'm not "devastated" if my high expectations are not always exceeded however... |

But in general to begin some new venture, to carry out some of your goal you need some support either mental or physical; at least this will strengthen you to continue. Mental strength varies from person to person. |

Sometimes we try to do something special/great and often we don't get support from others; but we should not stop rather we should continue. Do you feel like this? You must be talking about Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ashe or Ekla Cholo Re, as it is sometimes called when it is shortened. (English Translation) If they answer not to thy call walk alone, If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall, O thou unlucky one, open thy mind and speak out alone. If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness, O thou unlucky one, trample the thorns under thy tread, and along the blood-lined track travel alone. If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm, O thou unlucky one, with the thunder flame of pain ignite thy own heart and let it burn alone. Let me digress for a moment by saying that the song is often quoted in the context of political or social change movements. Mahatma Gandhi cited it as one his favorite songs. This actually carries a theme of quiet but courageous resistance that resonated deeply within the struggle for Indian independence, which I think was also reflected in another of Tagore’s work in the rhetoric of Jawaharlarl Nehru, whose “Tryst with Destiny” inaugural address described the unfinished business of building an Indian state as a labor of love. |

OK philosophical question...
if nobody ever responds to you then how do you know that you every really asked? maybe you don't even exist! |
