Most people like to think of cupid as the cute little cherub with the cute little bow and arrow, dancing around, shooting the "love" arrow and making people fall into a state of bliss and happiness.
I just don't buy it. I tend to think of cupid as a 14 foot ogre. He is big, ugly, and mean as hell. He carries a massive club with the word "LOVE" branded into it. There is nothing subtle about the way he moves, and when he smacks you over the head, you do all kinds of crazy stuff that sane people wouldn't dream of. Thus they spending money on stuff that dies quickly and makes us fat. But then again, it also explains the love/hate relationship we all have with him too. |
