That first picture looked more like a cross between a moose and Scooby actually.

I just avoided a ticket for a headlight out and not signaling to change lanes - WHEW. Batting the eyelashes does work happy

My grandfather avoided a ticket once in
his Caddy.
Just before he rolled down the window for
the officer, he cut a big one.
The cop leaned in, inhaled once, bumped
his head trying to get away and ran back
to his car and drove off.

How much was your almost ticket?

of course, go down that way a lot

I have some videos and pics of the hatchlings, going right out to the ocean, was just one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed! I'll have to see if I can get them posted - um, don't hold your breath tho glasses

That is so kewl! I had to look at your photo to see where you were from <g>. That is something on my bucket list to do! What time of year and where at did you see that please?? Your pics were awesome!

Hi there!

There are a few loggerhead turtle sanctuaries along the east coast. They come up around May and lay the nest of turtles and they hatch around September I believe. The ones we saw hatch were the last week in September and that was 'late'.

http://www.sciway.net/facts/sc-state-reptile-loggerhead-turtle.html

It is a true sight to see - we'd been going to the same beach for 6 years before we were there at the right time!
My sister had been going to another beach for over 25 years before she got to see her first 'boil'. She would spend the night on the beaches staring at the nests, needless to say she was THRILLED.

You see these little ping pong size and look like eggs moving around out of the sand - boiling up - and then these little flippers break thru the shell and off they go right down to the water - took about 5-7 minutes start to finish.
We all stood there and cried, it was just the coolest thing I've ever seen.

I was just telling my niece last week about the time I had 3 speeding tickets in two months -- 20 years ago and that I hadn't had a ticket since...
I told her I had probably jinxed myself for bringing it up.
Six days later --- I get pulled over laugh

He just handed my license and insurance card back and said to get the headlight fixed and be careful changing lanes - I did call him "Sir" a lot, even though he looked 12.
Felt icky flirting with a 12 year old cop.

I love that area, Lake Hope, Hocking Hills, go there a lot - ancestors from that part of Ohio, relatives buried down that way.
Old Man's Cave, Rock House, Ash Cave, I have a funny stoner story about Ash Cave.
I could live down there if I didn't have to commute anywhere.
Well, and if I could afford any property there!

Heard that Hocking Hills is a great place to go for horseback riding. Never been there myself tho.

Hocking Hills is beautiful and rugged -
http://www.hockinghills.com/photogallery.html?p=Hoffman

It is especially gorgeous in the fall with the colors.
There are a LOT of horseback riding places there and cabins to rent by the weekend or week all over there.

It is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Ohio!

I was talking to this good ole boy about making turtle soup one time. I was interested in how one would prepare a turtle for soup. He proceeds to tell me that it just takes duct tape and a garden hose. I'll save you the details............smokin
