am alive....and safe...however my country is in a real mess...the land, the forests, the food growing regions, a whole city....so many towns...our beef industry, cotton, wheat, sheep...

thankyou for those who emailed me...sorry it's taken so long to respond...was briefly marooned on a coral island on the Great Barrier reef for a while...(intentionally)...I couldn't bare the grief and pain and sadness.

Now back to doing that which is most needed...walking the talk.waving

For those that did not know or had not seen it on the news there was much flooding around the area Jess lives in. The link above will give you a bit of and idea.

Jess so glad to hear from you this morning and that your family was safe. It will take a long time for recovery from all the flooding. Within time it will happen and lots of hard work.

My thoughts and well wishes are with you all....

Thanks T, Kristi....and everyone....

personal impact is minimal...in that our home, and our community is regularly flooded/isolated during the wet season...however my country....my home state, Queensland...the state of New South Wales, and Victoria, Tasmania...and 85% of Queensland...flooded...the whole East coast of Australia affected...the whole country affected...our 'food/salad/fruit bowl' growing regions gone...in 3 states...our beef cattle...sheep..cotton...wheat...coal...every industry.

Our wildlife, a capital city, major towns to the north, west and south of me....loss...everywhere.

The countryside is brown, dead, and sodden...

the greatest plus in all of this is the Mighty Murray river on the border of New South Wales, and Victoria is in flood...(not so great)...however she was a dying river system up until a month ago...she's now flooding/flowing/flushing...

Most have only heard of the drama surrounding Toowoomba and Brisbane...it's way more than just that.
 brokenheart

(Oh Sherrie.....I know this is a part of the All...and this ancient old girl of a country needed a good bathing....but her fragility after years of drought....and now this...we humans are so very vulnerable....however the LAND...and it is not over by a long shot...we are only 7 weeks into the wet season...there's 3 more months ahead, and the aquifers, underground rivers, river systems, plains, everywhere is sodden...)

Glad to hear you and yours are okay. I thought of you when I saw the news.

Sorry to hear of the loss.

Time for regrouping and rebuilding.

I am looking for a place to send help to Australia.

Stay safe.

Well,,for what it is and was,,your fairly lucky to still have your place,,and for that, your very Blessed..
As for the wild life, lets hope most found dry lands to be on, before they went under..some will return if they can..
Our Earth has changed, and every place is open for its fury to have happen..It is also a very dire time for the world's economy to be struggling....so as for your economy there now,,,thats very sad,,as it will take many months of hard work,,just to get back ready,,the places hit with flood water's..Jess,,to me New Orleans,,is STILL
NOT back to what it was before Katrina,,and thats been how long ago,
so where your at with your damage right now,,,is workable to get back close to what it was..I hope you have your health to keep active through these next months of re-building,,God speed,,,
