Topic: My Experiment with truth. | |
---|---|
well I in fact do not accept your word that it is the truth- and wonder if what your agenda is in mentioning it - truth or not, because the mention of it serves no purpose. It was a test to see how much you guys enjoyed hearing the truth, since the thread was about being truthful. The hysterics have been quite entertaining to me. It seems that you guys want to pay lip service to the truth, but don't want to be exposed to real truth. I also think it wise to avoid religious extremism within any religion for obvious current & historic reasons. They must not be all that obvious, because I don't know what you are talking about. I am Catholic, not non Christian - just to clarify. I am capable of reading your profile. I never questioned or mentioned your religion. But you made it clear that your anger towards me was in part due to my political and religious views. I also wonder how adept you are at evaluating the sources of your information, and the potential agenda of those sources. Google it yourself if you care about the subject. Honestly, I think you are just fine with taking wisdom from a pedophile, so you won't bother to find out if what I posted is true. Gandhi called it his "brahmacharya" (chastity) experiments. Quite honestly spider, I myself was the subject of a rather vicious set of rumors several years ago that had virtually no truth to them and the purveyors were the religious right in the community where I lived. The experience has made me forever skeptical. If I had a dollar for everyone on the left who claimed to have been victim of some vicious right wing plot, I would retire to my own personal island. It's funny, when I was a non-Christian none of that stuff was going on. Yeah, my religious nut relatives sometimes gave me a hard time, but I never thought that I should blame all conservative religious people in America for the actions of my aunt, uncle and cousin. I do not entirely agree that you have been non judgmental. You have absolutely been judgmental, all I did was post facts that you have rejected out of hand, without doing any research. My perception is that the statements were made as to judge. They were statements of truth. If a statement of truth cannot be made about someone without some bleeding heart coming along and accusing someone of "judging", then the world is in worse shape than I thought. Or they would not have been made. They were made because of this: I knew that that facts reflect very negatively upon Gandhi and that his followers often equate him with Jesus (as being morally perfect). This thread was about his supposed love of the truth, so I wanted to see if his supporters also loved the truth. The results are what I expected. Those who believe that wisdom can come from a racist (Gandhi hated black people) who had some very strange sexual habits (I didn't even mention him giving his female followers enemas), don't particularly like the truth. I seldom debate these things, but this seemed particularly insidious. Once again: I posted facts about Gandhi in a thread about Gandhi's love of the truth. For that, I was judged to be judgmental I wish you good day and bid you adieu - I have things I need to attend to. Have a good afternoon! Thank you. |

For us (the poor mortal human beings)...reality is just a belief. Am I right?
Well...I dont think I'm wrong while asking this question. Bcoz, plenty of people decides reality as per their convenience, they are not bothered about what the fact is. It might be that we actually agree, and our apparent disagreement arises out of language use. When someone says "reality is just a belief", I take that as an assertion that reality (external, material reality) does not exist, independent of our perceptions. If you speak of people who 'are not bothered about what the fact is', then you must agree that there are such things as facts. |

and that they are reported and understood in context
****************************************************** I haven't said what I believe and I am not angry at anyone I clarified my religious affiliation because I am not Hindu I have left the conversation because I have no desire to debate and argue it is no longer a conversation, and I will not remain in a conversation that becomes a competition. My opinions remain as stated and will remain as stated regardless of what is said. So further discussion is fruitless as it is not a fact because it is in print, and even less so because it appears on Google Gee I think I'll post on Google that I'm a billionaire & take y'all to dinner Learn to examine possibilities. namaste |
