Topic: How can a lady wear a Skirt or dress in the Winter?

I've never had a job where I was required to wear a skirt or dress, so I tend not to wear them when it's really cold. But, I would imagine a long coat and tights would help.

And boots. While uggs are horribly ugly, a lot of people seem to like wearing them.
is that what they call then thick socks uggs lolllllllll wonder depends on color i suppose:) yes long coats help but what ladys wear long coats now a days not many here in Canada :)flowerforyou

I Really feel sorry for you Lady's out there that have jobs that require you to where skirts or dresses at work and also some schools and college's too in the Winter time i think its not fair when its so cold out there now if you are in a Country where its Freezing like -15 to -35 you must really freeze :)what do you all think??? cause its cold enough for us guys in Jeans or dress pants but i guess thats why you have us guys to keep you all warm and make you a hot drink later:))))))flowerforyou   waving

This will really date me but when I was in the first couple years of elementary school in Ohio, girls had to wear dresses. In winter, we wore snowpants under our dresses/skirts and then had to take them off when we hung up our coats. No - this was not parochial school or uniforms...just silliness about gender roles and what boys/girls needed to wear - even in freezing weather! Thank goodness I can make different choices today and if the choice is "dress" then there are tights, boots, etc.

Actually, nylon's are very warm to me.They are warmer then pants.
And the theory of a man warming us up is has got to be the biggest plus!biggrin

Why?

Cause they look good and the women know it. Saw a chick in a mini skirt during our last freeze as she was walking out to her car in some hump me boots and a little jacket and it looked great! I gave out an "OWWWW YOU LOOK FINE!!" ..she turned back and grinned big.

If you got it flaunt it. If you don't...cover it up.

Pretty much the same reason that I dont mind being naked in a crowd.

Well then put your "flaunt" where my mouth is...of craw meant where your mouth is!!

As for the rest....I got it (if you don't mind a tad thin) but I cover it up because comfort trumps looks any day of the week! If you can't see my beauty under wraps, with a cold runny nose, hair frizzed by the frigid wind, cheeks chapped raw and teeth chattering then who needs ya!

when i was a Realtor i did sometimes and when i was an office manager as well especially when i had to run the dept of transportation pre- bids .. i had to do some of the presentations to the contractors bidding... so i had to dress nice.. actually there are thicker nylons that are warmer than cotton pants are... winter stockings...<nylons>
i understand what you saying but i saw in the past when i was downtown in a city with tons of office buildings you see lots and lots of ladys freezing in winter your 1 of the smart ones who knows how to keep warm:))) flowers

I wear a lot of skirts and dresses in the winter....with my boots. I love wearing my boots and usually can't wait for winter to wear them.

Also, tights are very warm.

the scottish wear skirts... kilts, all year round. and theyve just had a meter of snow.
now i think its fair to say that even a scots balls hang less than a meter off the ground.

so im guessing that little purse thing they have is to put their balls in once they freeze and drop off.

tough or stupid?

you decide
