Jesse Ventura states in public forum the reasons he doesnt wish to be affiliated with parties........both parties working together to keep the public divided, in order to keep their back room deals.......and adding more parties will only add more devils and back room deals to keep Americans more confused than ever.....only because the new parties will have to become corrupt in order to survive in the political world........these have been my thoughts for quite sometime........but how do we change the political world? Parties tachnically keep the hate going by fueling drama and malcontent through the nation, splitting and dividing the US........

As long as Jesse can avoid the influence of special interest bribes, he can stay his own man.

DC is a prime example of who all have sold their souls for power.

I doubt we'll see a union between parties in our lifetime... if ever. Too much money and back scratching involved.

Jesse is right. The two major parties represent themselves, not the people. Our political system has been carefully tuned to filter out people like Jesse and sell the turds that now exist as our congress.

The American govt has ALWAYS been like this. None of this should be new. The political system has not been tuned recently...it happened when you fought the English for independence. Remember the backroom deal with the french to help the Americans fight the English? This is the political system that America was founded on. There is hundreds of years of history to support this.

Agreed, but how do we change the sytem to get people like Jesse Ventura to stay and boot the POS out? And every change throughout history started somewhere with someone willing to fight the good fight, did it not?

The simple truth is that we allow the two main parties, in conjunction with their media allies, to ingrain the simple fallacy that they are the only choices. In the end, we the public are to blame for putting the same people in power time and again. Until the public shows true outrage and is willing to elect someone, anyone, who is not in either party to all three bodies of government, nothing will ever change.

well that is the question that we need answered. :)!! I have only come up with one answer. It is up to the people to make their voice heard. WE are supposed to control who is in office...The americans need to get that control. Ill use Canada as an example cuz that's where I'm from. Although We are by NO means perfect, no Canadian leader does anything without a vote. That is why we call ourselves a Social Democracy. We make the govt responsible for free healthcare and other services, but they dont go to the bathroom here without us knowing. I find that Canadians have greater control over our govt then the Americans do over theirs.

Trouble is the only people willing to run get voiced over and no one willing to go out on a limb and just vote for whatever no name they see in every dept in order to create chaos in government in order to restructure and get the kinks out.........or even do a rock the vote and challenge to citizens to vote for who you dont know with backgrounds we dont know?

I didn't vote in the last election, it wasn't from lack of interest, hell I volunteered in New Mexico (I lived there then) to help with the vote. I just didn't like the choices either party had to offer.

the truth as I see it is that politicians are americans, and americans will be divided no matter WHAT system we adapt politically

that is the product of 'freedoms' mixed with 'human imperfection' and technology

I think politicians are only a mirror of american attitude and culture

I believe that to be a fallacy, americans and their politicians have never been this superior example of morals and justice we tend to want to think of them as

but historically they have been slaveholders, they have oppressed minorities, they have oppressed women, they have killed over property rights, they have round people up into camps because of their nationality,,,they have been drunkards, and adulterers, and hypocrites

the truth is we have never had a utopic america and probably never will,,we will always and have always had a divisive 'us vs them' mentality and probably always will

but we can always be striving towards greater things,,as long as we have the reality that in being human we wont ever be perfect

No but to invoke change you have to start somewhere don't we? No one said anything about politicians historically being just or anything......else I agree they have always been this way.....but we need to change it and if we don't who will

Its all about money!! If the lure of easy money was not there, nobody would even run for public office. But the incentives that the people have put forth for them, are too much of a temptation for them to resist.

Along with the big money comes corruption and evildoings.

the haves want to keep what they have and what they have is authority over the have nots,,,which they also want to keep,,,

Ahhhh yes but the have nots do have rights remaining still to invoke change for the future just as women's sufferage and civil rights did......yet lacking in the strength to stand against at least the curruption.......instead of remaining complacent in accepting governmental entitlements and hence more governmental controls and powers to commit more corruption.........

this is all too true the fact that you have to have money to run or be connected to big business means we will never have a canidate that truly represents the average citizen and this must be changed to get out from under the never ending loop of the two party system
