Good. As if they couldn't screw it up more...lol, there's this.

GOP civil war rages with successes by conservative insurgents

"A Republican civil war is raging, with righter-than-thou conservatives dominating ever more primaries in a fight for the party's soul. And the Democrats hope to benefit.

The latest examples of conservative insurgents' clout came Tuesday at opposite ends of the country. In Florida, political newcomer Rick Scott beat longtime congressman and state Attorney General Bill McCollum for the GOP gubernatorial nomination. And in Alaska, tea party activists and Sarah Palin pushed Sen. Lisa Murkowski to the brink of defeat, depending on absentee ballot counts in her race against outsider Joe Miller.

The GOP is likely to survive its bitter intraparty battles in such states as Alaska and Utah, even if voters oust veteran senators in both. But tea party-backed candidates might be a godsend to desperate Democrats elsewhere -- in Nevada, Florida and perhaps Kentucky, where the Democrats portray GOP nominees as too extreme for their states.

If Murkowski joins Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, as a victim of party activists who demand ideological purity, other Republicans are still likely to win in November, though Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., would have to deal with more maverick members who are loathe to compromise. And the conservative insurgency is hardly all-powerful, as Sen. John McCain proved by easily winning renomination in Arizona despite a challenge from the right by J.D. Hayworth."

Either we put the lotion on our skin or we get the hose again! Both GOP and DNC constantly have in fighting all the time.

Part of the reason we have such a functional government!

All that power playing!

I am very pleased that you posted this.

This is a perfect example of how stupid and out of touch the left wing is.

The only reason Obama got elected was because he sold his "change" theme. People were sick of Bush and he was the right person at the right time. So they thought.. Now we are in a situation where the dumbos have spent us into oblivion, far surpassing the free spending republicans that preceded them. So, instead of the dumbos taking people like Barney Frank to task for his incompetence they are just going to send him right back so he can build on his brilliant record of financial prognostication. Remember the "Fannie and Freddie are sound" comments 2 months before they collapsed?

That is the guy we want in charge of the House Financial Services Committee.. LMAO!!!

So now that the republican party has begun removing the over-spending louts from the ranks of the party, it's a bad thing?

How many times do we here from Obama that it was these same over-spending louts that drove the economy in the ditch?

Well, excuse us for wanting to get rid of these same people that Obama is referring to.

There is a difference between saying you are going to change something and actually doing it.

Regardless of who is running, the dumbos are going to take a serious beating come November and I for one would rather see fiscal conservatives taking over than the same idiots that "ran us in the ditch".

well, lets see ..from http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/shortfacts.html

'As described in Nobel's will, one part was dedicated to "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses'

well, certainly, a few of the warmongering, fearmongering, religiously bigoted who could NEVER qualify for this might feel a big or jealousy....lol

A sense a bit of hostility..

Anyway, for what it is worth.. Obama escalated the war in afghanistan and he authorized the murder of american citizens without trial. Now... does that represent the spirit of the peace prize?

Just asking...

would murder AFTER a trial be more peaceful?

murder rarely has ANYTHING to do with peace but its a part of elected JUSTICE systems

winners in the past have never been PERFECT pacifists,, they were awarded for EFFORTS toward peace up till that point

I remember names like Henry Kissinger, and Yassar Arafat ,,,,,

and he did what to bring about peace? get elected?

He was a senator for 2 years. No one even knew who he was before that.

I think your mention of Kissinger and Arafat helps to further my true intent as to the validity of this particular prize.

It's political.

The justice system... yes... whether anyone likes it or not, American citizens, no matter of how evil they may be, are afforded the right to a trial.

Making exemptions today for some Islamic terrorist can set a precedent to be used later on some other "undesirable". I guess it depends on what the governments definition of a terrorist is going to be..

well, I have no comment as to what guidelines SOMEONE else uses for their awards

its not an an award founded or funded by the american public,, it was set up. it was created by a PRIVATE citizen who dtermined how he wanted his estate to be invested and where he wanted that investment income to go,,,

its no 'lower' a standard than they have ever used

in their own words

'Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population.'

from the nobel peace prize explanation at
http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/

In addition to humanitarian efforts and peace movements, the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded for work in a wide range of fields including advocacy of human rights, mediation of international conflicts, and arms control.

That was when he was declared the winner, however, he was nominated after only 12 days in office.

This award is about politics. If the leftist elite like your politics you have a good chance of winning. If they don't you might as well forget it..

Obama had not been mentioned as among front-runners for the prize, and the roomful of reporters gasped when Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel committee, announced that the president was the winner.

The Nobel committee recognized Obama's efforts at dialogue to solve complex global problems, including working toward a world free of nuclear weapons. Watch CNN's Christiane Amanpour's analysis »

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," the committee said.

Jagland said the decision was "unanimous" and came with ease. Watch the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize announcement »

He rejected the notion that Obama had been recognized prematurely for his efforts and said the committee wanted to promote the president just it had Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990 for his efforts to open up the Soviet Union. Ed Rollins: Obama now must earn it

"His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population," the committee said of Obama. Listen to Jagland explain why Obama was this year's choice »

These people are not fiscal conservatives...people forget that the GOP got us into this mess with their economics..give to the rich hoping it will "trickle down"..and Obama is turning it around...and let's not forget that Obama promised change but warned it may take several years to recover.

Bush could not run again...what's that about? The McCain/Palin ticket was a joke and I bet secretly that McCain wanted to lose anyway...having Palin on the ticket ensured his loss...the woman is an idiot by even minimal standards.

Heh, the GOP SPENT like drunken sailors on shore leave...many of the bailouts started under the GOP and Repulsivan WH...lying about recent history only works to sway morons...the recovery process from the disasters of past GOP rule will take time.

Finish the movie yet? Understand who the real enemies are yet?
