Based on definition 2 a-c of the noun of Liberalism, I can't understand the Right wing hatred of Liberalism. I guess it's because they don't actually understand it's meaning.

You really believe THIS / THESE 'definitions' of 'liberal' still apply to the ones who CALL themselves 'liberal' today ... ? Sorry - that's SO wrong ... 'Progressive' / 'Socialist' / 'Marxist' / 'Leninist' / 'Stalinist' / 'Maoist' ... all are correct descriptors for what TRY to pass themselves off today as 'liberal' ... The sad part is that 'liberal' actually once had a positive meaning - no longer ...

I don't agree completely with liberals all the time but I do not see them as harmful to America.

I believe the right wing extremists to be much more harmful to our freedoms in this country.

A lot of "Liberals" take it to mean spending other people's money liberally for every humanitarian cause to cross their path.

Bohemians were once thought of to be liberal but these days Bohemian means something different from back at the turn of the 1900s.

Now "liberal" is tossed more than a salad at anything political.

So what exactly is in between the Right Wing and the Left Field?

A lot of conflicting political interests?

Although I wouldn't call it stupidity because stupidity is subjective and also it is an allowed prejudice used against people in a manner meant to be degrading.

I would call it misguided.
I would call it words and actions coming from a place of not knowing what they are talking about.
I would call it traditions carried over from time when humans were less human and more animalistic.
I would call it fearmongering for control.
I would call it hatemongering to dehumanize.
Etc....

Yeah...it's called "election year"..tho~ this is mo' nasty with the racist element involved...and too, a lot of what you see over and over here are just political shills...the ones who have no mental spine in public. It's not misguided when it's planned and actioned. You could say that they're "full of shill" and intend to Say Anything to support a Just Say No agenda in their shrinking little party that remains the representation of Big Corporation and Big Pollution.

Liars for the rich and haters for brainless herds.

“[Global warming] is an emergency… It’s a frightening thing. It’ll make world war look like heaven.”

– John Edwards

“Don’t fear the terrorists. They’re mothers and fathers.”

– Rosie O’Donnell

“Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people”

– Barack Obama said while on the final leg of his weekend trip to eastern Iowa

“This (Bush) administration does not like regulation, this administration does not like spending money, and it has a hostility toward government.”

- Rep. John D. Dingell (D-Mich.), Washington Post, 4/23/07, as if the above was a BAD thing. If only it was true

“It is a decision of the Supreme Court. So this is almost as if God has spoken.”

– Nancy Pelosi reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision on “eminent domain”

American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran.

– Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., to an audience of more than 200 in North Miami

“We know that no one person can succeed unless everybody else succeeds.”

– Howard Dean

“The President and his Right-wing Supreme Court think it is ‘okay’ to have the government take your house if they feel like putting a hotel where your house is.”

– DNC Chairman Howard Dean, conveniently “forgetting” that it was the liberal wing of the Court that gave the US this outrage

“You think everyone over there is a college graduate? They’re 19 and 20-year-old kids who couldn’t get a job… You know, the soldiers are not scholars, they’re not war experts… They’re not the best people to ask about the war because they’re gonna die any second.”

— Actor Richard Belzer, showing his “support” for our troops

“I couldn’t be happier for the privilege of sitting down with the president of Iran.”

– CBS’s Mike Wallace to Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad

“(Wal-Mart) ran the ‘mom and pop’ stores out of my neighborhood. But you see, those are the people who have been overcharging us, selling us stale bread and bad meat and wilted vegetables. And they sold out and moved to Florida. I think they’ve ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it’s Arabs; very few black people own these stores.”

- Former Atlanta mayor, UN ambassador and “civil rights” leader Andrew Young in the Los Angeles Sentinel when asked about Wal-Mart causing smaller stores to close

“The war on terror is the war in Afghanistan”

- - House Minority “Leader” Nancy Pelosi proving again why Democrats cannot be trusted to keep America safe

http://democratequalssocialist.wordpress.com/2007/12/30/21-ways-to-be-a-good-democrat/

21 WAYS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. Nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth’s climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV’s.

6. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

7. You have to believe that the same teacher who can’t teach fourth graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

8. You have to believe that hunters don’t care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.

9. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

10. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make The Passion of the Christ for financial gain only.

11. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

12. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

13. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and A.G. Bell.

14. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

15. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.

16. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn’t worked anywhere it’s been tried is because the right people haven’t been in charge.

17. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.

18. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

19. You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States.

20. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right wing conspiracy.

21. You have to believe that it’s okay to give Federal workers off on Christmas Day but it’s not okay to say “Merry Christmas.”
