Topic: Teabaggers | |
---|---|
A North Dakota Newspaper printed this? That's progress...I am greatly impressed.
http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/170473/group/Opinion/ "GRAND FORKS — Teabaggers claim they’re a new political movement, but there’s nothing new about them. Their ignorance and reactionary self-righteousness are as old as humanity. There were teabaggers in ancient Israel; they were known as the Pharisees. There were teabaggers in the Spanish Inquisition; they burned witches at the stake. There were teabaggers in South Africa; they imprisoned Nelson Mandela for 28 years. There even are teabaggers in the animal kingdom; they’re called parrots. Right-wing extremism, ignorance and reactionary self-righteousness never have been a good combination, but they’re on full display everywhere teabaggers gather. It doesn’t matter where those hypocrites meet, it doesn’t matter what their misspelled signs say, the spectacle always is the same: They profane democracy with their delusional tantrums about President Barack Obama, they parrot Fox News propaganda, they parade around as patriots, but they don’t have a clue what patriotism is. They have no respect for democracy. When Democrats win elections, teabaggers call it tyranny. The lights went out in their attics long ago, but we’re all supposed to listen to their tantrums. They say they want to take America back. Well, how far back do they want to take it? To 1950? 1850? The 12th century? America is paying a heavy price for those right-wing policies these activists love so much. Deregulation has shattered our economy. Endless wars have shattered our military. Oil company profiteering has savaged our Gulf Coast. Drill, baby, drill, the teabaggers chanted; they wanted more oil. Well, they got more oil. 100,000 barrels a day of it, coming ashore on the Gulf Coast with more on the way, flowing like blood from that gaping wound in the earth, ripped a mile deep by the dark lords of profit. No one could stop it, and that oil still is spreading in black bloodstains of horror on the face of the deep. It’ll ride the loop current out into the Gulf Stream and up the East Coast, a damning indictment of teabagger idiocy, written on the waves like a message from Hell. Tell me no more of your Tea Party stories, tell me no more of your Hannity lies. Your leaders are frauds, your words are just noise, your eyes cannot see and your ears cannot hear, your minds are filled with irrational fear — of Blacks and Hispanics, of Asians and Muslims, of all of God’s children who look different from you. Put away your signs and spare us your slogans. Stop pointing your finger at everyone else: It’s your ideology that’s brought us this nightmare, of bankers and profiteers out of control, of oil on our shores and blood on our hands, from torture and bombing and Middle East wars. You deserve no attention, you deserve no respect, you deserve condemnation and so does Glenn Beck. He’s gone off the deep end, but that’s nothing new, like Palin and Bachmann, like Limbaugh and Cheney, your heroes all do that, that’s all that they do." Steve Rustad |

Nice rant by Mr Rustad.
Now, he can get in line with the others at funny farm and take his Lithium before he freaks again. The rant was a joke. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

more bashing between the parties...you think this is new? dems hate repubs, and vice versa. to bad the parties can't help each other, instead of posturing for position all the time.

Once upon they were carpetbaggers!
Now they are teabaggers. Are they English? Or do they like balls on their foreheads? |

more bashing between the parties...you think this is new? dems hate repubs, and vice versa. to bad the parties can't help each other, instead of posturing for position all the time. and the congregation said Amen,,,,, more of the same 'whats wrong with them' instead of 'whats right with us' or 'how can we all do better' |

Well, I guess it's better to be a teabagger than a teabaggee. Unless of course you like balls in your mouth, lol.
I think it's funny that people call the Tea Party members teabaggers as a derogatory term for them. If they're doing the teabagging, then everyone else must be the ones being teabagged. Last time I checked, the latter is the butt of the joke! |

I have found that they find the term "teabagger" offensive.
Out of respect maybe it wouldn't need to be used. The tea partiers have a whole slew of problems with their party. Not a very healthy for the partiers and/or the country movement from all I have seen. |

yeah, I never used it to be derogatory,, I know in this oversexed culture people find it hard to believe, but I actually never heard the word before the tea party movement

I'm not sure if I should vote against them, I haven't been to a Tea Party yet so I haven't decided. Funny story about people not knowing the meaning of the term...no offense msharmony....I had a coworker at one of my old jobs who used to have a box of teabags sitting on her desk at all times. She thought it'd be funny and cute to change her nametag on her cube to say "Teabag Tammy". She had it like that for about 2 months before someone finally had mercy and went up to her and told her what it meant and that everyone knew. Ahhh, good times, HR disaster waiting to happen at that place but at least it was laid back and somewhat fun! |

Looks like Rustad has managed to make his 'loyal readers' the meat in his ignorance sandwich ...
To all of his followers: Be proud to be meat ... |

Didn't some of them used to call themselves teabaggers? Now that they've realized it's being used in a derogatory manner, they're whining about it.

No. Anderson Cooper is the one who began using the term with the full knowledge of its derogatory sexual innuendo when he said it on CNN. Tea Party members have NEVER used that term to describe the party, its principles, or its goals. You are seriously confused if you believe otherwise. |

You're saying not one person who is part of the tea party has ever used that term? Ever?

You're saying not one person who is part of the tea party has ever used that term? Ever? You ... umm ... CAN read, right ... ? Some may possibly have used the term at some point in their life, but NEVER in connection with the movement, its principles, or its members. Two completely different contexts ... talk to AC360. |

It's NOT 'condescending' to accuse members of a movement you obviously disagree with and do not support of being 'teabaggers' instead of 'Tea Party members' and then insinuate that they, with full knowledge of the derogatory sexual implication and innuendo that term conveys, would willingly and with full knowledge of its impact use it to describe each other and the movement they belong to ... ? Please ... that's too much of a stretch to be believeable. |
