Here are some of what I'd like to see enforced in our Immigration policy.

* In the US legally;
* Have the means to sustain themselves economically;
* Not destined to be burdens on society;
* Of economic and social benefit to society;
* Of good character and have no criminal records; and
* Contributors to the general well being of the nation.

“The law should also ensure that:

* Authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
* Foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
* Foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;
* Foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
* Foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
* Those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.”

Id like to see enforcement of current laws equally.

Immigration policy is pretty clear cut and simply laid out.

there is a long list of those who CANNOT have a visa

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/ineligibilities/ineligibilities_1364.html

IF they pass all of those , they still have to have a FINANCIAL SPONSOR , someone to assure they wont become a taxpayer responsibility

IF the current laws were enforced equally, I think the bulk of our issue would be solved

and along with enforcing the front end, there needs to be attention to the back end ,,the MOTIVATION for immigrants to break the law in the first place,,,,money

PROSECUTE , PENALIZE, and HEAVILY FINE or burden those companies or employers hiring anyone without paperwork,,,, when its shown that a company has committed such fraud, they should be expected to pay a fine equal to the CURRENT wage they would have had to pay a US citizen for the job, that takes away the companies incentive to risk foregoing the law,,,if its not going to save them any money

for instance, if Employer A hires ten illegals for 6 dollars per hour, a job which would have reasonably been worth a 10dollar per hour wage to a citizen and those illegals work a total of 400 hours each,,,the company will have to be fined 40,000

what about randomly selecting a few thousand illegal immigrants and awarding them immunity(like they do with criminal snitches) in return for working on the inside finding and bringing in other illegal aliens?

the best strategy to bring about change usually begins on the INSIDE

Well folks I'm gonna tell you something that everybody ignors here but all illegals have to have a social# to get a job and they provide one so all companies report their taxes to that # the only difference between you guys and the illegals its that all of you get you money back at the end of the year and probably more then what you paid but the ilegals don't so who contibutes more to the country ?

not ignoring those who use false ss numbers, but employees do in fact hire workers they know to be illegal immigrants(one case they had a few dozen with the same social security number , NO WAY payroll would miss that,,)

and even if payroll still withholds the taxes, it doesnt make me feel any better regarding the breaking of immigration laws

the guidelines are there for a reason, millions are DENIED every year who follow the law,, why should others not even be required to adhere to it and then get rewarded with benefits and political support?

sorry, I dont care where someone is from, you can no more walk into a country without permission, than you can walk into someones home

even if you put money in their cookie jar while they sleep, even if you do the housework or yardwork while they are away,,its not YOUR(not you specifically) home unless you are invited and welcomed,,,,,

It truly burns me up that people IGNORE the millions of families who follow the laws and still cant be together or those who wait YEARS for the immigration process to take its course before being joined with their families,,,,their respect for the law is given a big MIDDLE finger everytime someone FIGHTS for illegal immigrants to be given some special consideration,,, its trespassing,, period.

I dont condone treating anyone as less than human but I do condone enforcing the laws EQUALLY for EVERYONE,,,

sorry, but we pay taxes, illegals don't. they get their money tax free,
which means the government has to raise our taxes to make up for the money they are missing by have millions who don't make their contribution. not to mention the overloads in the school systems, hospital bills that don't get paid, then the government has to pay, and again it comes out of our(tax payers) money. then there is driving without a license, or insurance, something else that someone has to pay for the wrecks. crime, that's another issue... whos paying for their crime sprees... we are. i don't think the 5 or 6 dollars an hour they make helps anyone besides the businesses that pay them.

in cases where FALSE paperwork is filed on behalf of an illegal employee, and they are on a payroll , taxes are also withheld from their pay(payroll department doesnt have special notes to tell them which employees are legitimate, they just withhold what they are told to withhold on the paperwork)

when payroll deducts taxes from our pay that pay goes to the government,,,we file tax returns to get back any overpayment or to assess if we still owe more

i completely agree with everything you & the OP have said. Not only should companies that hire illegals be fined, they should be barred from borrowing/obtaining business loans

Crackdown on employers who hire illegals.
Secure the borders with our military...use armed/deadly force when neccessary.
