I've driven across the US 2 x in my life, taking a month to do it once and a week another. This country would blow anyone's mind with all the diversity and beauty, so few realize it. It is so worth the trip, at any age.

ah, I see. You didn't like Denver huh. I love Denver, but I wouldn't want to live there, maybe smaller places near by but not the city.
Nope, never again.

I was there about 33 yrs. Some things I miss......mostly not. Live in small town-rural now. Northwestern lower Michigan, and I love it here.

Where I live you can't see the mountains usually from all the smog! That and for at least two hours of driving all you will see is concrete jungle!
Also Mount Wilson is the tallest point here and it has a antenna station on top of it! What a shame! No Rocky Mountain High Here, just 4:20 (AM and PM).
We do have wild Coyotes running around here though!

I didn't know you were out here, Andy. You can come up to my mountains! It's very pretty up here in Big Bear.waving

Fifi !!
Big Bear !!
Been there many times growing up.
Beautiful, specially since you can breathe again
coming up out of the valley..

Pretty photos of the Valley, just wish the breathtaking views weren't marred by smog most of the time. It's gotten so bad the last couple years...

Hello to you also and thank you. Mmm, the 'inversions.' They're the reason why I gave up running, hiking, and biking a couple years ago. It's wonderful to slip away to Park City, though, above and beyond the death fog.

Let's say reasonably close by. :) I spent some time at the U. Sundance is great too. Not many places have mountains like here.

Could be one of a dozen places and be considered SLC..the way were going with the continued building and new interstates and wal-marts and everything else..keep it up and my town will be a suburb of SLC and I'm south of the 'point of the mountain'.

Yep, we do have the best mountains.

We're paving over the American West, which I think they think is no biggie.

Really? I'm actually quite concerned about 'paving' over nature.

Same, but I realize I'm in the minority.
