Topic: Is Knowledge a Gift from Satan - part 2 | |
---|---|
funches.............you dont worship god???????????????????????? maybe YOUR knowlede is just more speculation????? If you worshiped god & HIS WORD, you wouldnt have such doubt of adam & eves knowledge!!!!! BL4766...I have doubts because you haven't of yet posted a passage that indicate that Adam and Eve had knowledge beyond a 5 year old worshipping god and his word will not make that passage appear in the bible if it's not in there you dont worship god because I didnt post a passage stating that they had knowledge beyond a 5yr old????? thats silly! you dont worship for other reasons...... and im YET to see a passage saying that they had the mentality of A 5YR OLD!!!!!!!!!! it ISNT THERE! I'm just not into hero worshipping...especially unseen entities that can't be proved to exist beyond a book, also it's the bible that states that Adam and Eve lacked the knowledge of good and evil...so explain what knowledge could they possible have that was beyond that of a 5 year old That would be difficult to explain as those reading it would have to have intellignce beyond that of a 5-year old. Totaly missing the intended audience. Peter_Pan...when commenting on the lack of intelligence of others... at least try to make it a point not to misspell the word "intelligence" ...it only displays that you may perhaps lack it |

THE ORIGINAL POST WAS
the more technology advances the more Man becomes God ...is this why God was anti-knowledge and forbid Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree ... did God create Man out of the need for vanity to have Man forever worship him as an all powerful being and this lead Satan to teach Adam and Eve that the power of God was only the sum of his knowledge ... what Satan did then is why parents today insist that their children go to school ...not to learn good or evil but to get knowledge Adam and Eve didn't go to school ...God gave them faith ...Satan gave them knowledge ....and that's why children and Adults now go to school or strive for higher education ... so can it be said that all knowledge that exist outside the context of the bible can be attribute to Satan because Satan gave Man the desire to seek knowledge before the fall from Eden all the knowledge the religious required was how to tilled the soil and give animals names.. after the fall from The Garden of Eden all the knowledge a religious person needed was placed in the bible this is why when a religious person have the desire to gain knowledge beyond the bible it is due to Satan Satan gave Man the desire to learn...to accumulate knowledge ..so can it be said that Satan do exactly what God created him to do....to be an Angel |

Nope, not an ounce. apparently it does since you keep responding ...now can you stop flaming and get back on the topic The topic is done, there's nothing left, you already told me that Satan didn't grant me the knowledge. Call it a flame, call it karma, call it childish... It is what it is... The difference is that I can recognise it and know when I'm doing it. Stop flaming? What do you have against homosexuals? And I don't even want to know what you're calling "topic" nowadays, it sounds kinda gross. Is that a proper example of staying on topic? It is if I go by your example. |

Peter_Pan...no need to get paranoid...flaming just refers to ranting off topic ....as you are obviously doing if Satan didn't grant you the knowledge...then use the internet to get it ...think of it as a tree |

if Satan didn't grant you the knowledge...then use the internet to get it ...think of it as a tree I'm glad you finally agree, the internet provided the knowledge. |

Nope, knowledge isnt the gift of satan. I really dont see how proving the claim that god made the earth flat and immovable, the center of the universe could be taken as a gift of some devil. Its sad, theres still morons that believe god made a flat earth that can be seen entirely from the summit of mt. sinai that call themselves flat-earthers. whether the truth we gain is positive or negative, its better to live in a horrible truth than a beautiful lie. With advances in modern medicine as well, this goes to show that knowledge isnt the work of the devil. The bubonic plague was claimed to be god's way of preventing overpopulation, but science proved that totally wrong. It was discovered that it the cure was high doses of vitamin c, not prayer.

PSALM 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. 3There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.a 4Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. |

Young's Literal Translation Fear of Jehovah is a beginning of knowledge, Wisdom and instruction fools have despised! fear is the beginning of knowledge?....are you sure this is a God of love ...wouldn't it be the same as if you married the person that would one day murder you Easton's Bible Dictionary Fear of the Lord Is in the Old Testament used as a designation of true piety (Proverbs 1:7; Job 28:28; Psalm 19:9). It is a fear conjoined with love and hope, and is therefore not a slavish dread, but rather filial reverence. (Comp. Deuteronomy 32:6; Hosea 11:1; Isaiah 1:2; 63:16; 64:8.) God is called "the Fear of Isaac" (Genesis 31:42, 53), i.e., the God whom Isaac feared. A holy fear is enjoined also in the New Testament as a preventive of carelessness in religion, and as an incentive to penitence (Matthew 10:28; 2 Corinthians 5:11; 7:1; Philippians 2:12; Ephesians 5:21; Hebrews 12:28, 29). |

Sure, advances in knowledge have brought about things that can be perceived as negative, like the internet(unproductive as heck for businesses), but at the same time the interweb helps people all over the globe connect and learn. Just think, because of knowledge we can do what hasnt been able to be done in the history of man, like explain how it is that volcanos work and arent gods getting angry, and how thunder and lightning work, and is not the sign of a god trying to smite someone dead, and even how to identify genetic markers for killers such as cancer! Knowledge help people live happy productive lives, so who can honestly say that knowledge is bad or a horrific gift from some evil? Without knowledge, people couldnt even read their bibles they are so quick to quote, itd just look like a bunch of scribbles and squggles any way you look at it. Knowledge is good, people shouldnt knock it till they tried it.
On a side note, couldnt help but notice how fear=love somehow...sounds kinda like a bdsm type thing, love me by fearing me. Fear doesnt lead to love, fear leads to anger and hatred and dissent. |

Fear doesnt lead to love, fear leads to anger and hatred and dissent. It's not gaining the knowledge itself that is sinful. It's what you do with that knowledge. And fear = love because if you love someone you "fear" loosing them and or upsetting them. If you love your parents, you fear doing something to get them upset and or really mad with you. |

It's not gaining the knowledge itself that is sinful. It's what you do with that knowledge.
And fear = love because if you love someone you "fear" loosing them and or upsetting them. If you love your parents, you fear doing something to get them upset and or really mad with you. But this can be said about any knowledge, even the knowledge of god. God has historically been used as a type of weapon in the hearts and minds of those that would portray god as one...well, most knowledge, you cant really say the ability to learn the knowledge to survive is a bad thing, it is necessary in our lives if we are to have lives to live. And doctrine teaches that god is all-loving, so does someone really need to fear losing god? god states he is with everyone, even those that would deny him, and all it really takes is a heartfelt apology. So in a sense, to say "i am always with you, so fear me to love me" is either unnecessary or egomaniacal. |
