After thinking about this quite a bit, and figuring my list is always changing, I think I managed a good list here.

1. Natural Born Killers - Great depiction of early 90's media and focus on violence.

2. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter Thompson, Johnny Depp - instant classic.

3. Halloween (Rob Zombie) - A good revisit of the classic horror series 'Halloween.' Personally, I thought it better than the first.

4. The Devils Rejects - Brilliant movie, glorifying the bad guys, with a twist in the ending only a mother could love.

5. The Hills Have Eyes (Alexandre Aja) - The first movie (1977) was a Wes Craven classic! The revisit was just as brilliant, followed by 2, which was utterly disappointing.

--And that, my friends, is FearandLoathing's list of morbid-drug-induced-entertainment...enjoy.

It's funny that the sequel to the original, and the sequel to the remake both sucked.

5. Superbad (2007)- Best comedy in quite some time.

4. The Crow (1994)- Dark, gothic, and Brandon Lee in his final role.

3. Heat- (1995)- Still Michael Mann's best film. Amazing cast.

2. Die Hard- (1988)- Still the definitive action flick.

1. Shawshank Redemption- (1994)- Best film I have ever seen.

If you thought the sequel to the remake was bad, the sequel to the original was worse. Though there is a hilariously silly moment when one of the dogs from the original has flashbacks showing scenes from the '77 version.

I thought, "I know ... I'll narrow it down to categories and begin new threads ...

One thread per category ... "

Then the categories mounted, much less more than 5 per category ... whoa
